Nice animation. Can I ask you how you added the drawn in arrow feature?

Try making a simple SP file from scratch - sounds like there might be something in your file that is causing issues if you have been trying to open the same file -
You're right - starting with a clean file cleared the fault. It seems there's a conflict between version 3.1 & 3.2. I started working with 3.2 & have some files created with that version. Then having had a problem, I went to re-install & could only access v3.1, so have continued using this version. If I open an existing file that was not originally created in 3.1... the programme crashes (to be expected I suppose - but it then continues to crash with files of either versions). Your suggestion has given me a way to clear the problem. Ideally, I'd like to re-install 3.2 & keep to it - but can't seem to access it now. Anyone know where its's gone?

RE: SketchyPhysics3.2 (Dec 2)
Don't know if anyone can suggest a solution here... I was getting to know sketchyphysics (although it sees a bit temperamental, not always running as it should. I'd produced a few animations (domino falls, etc.) Now it crashes as soon as I hit SP play. I've re-installed 3.1 & again onto a second PC - but still the play button crashed SU. Any ieas?... is there somehting I need to set in SU preferences maybe?

In Photoshop, you set the blending mode of the linework layer to 'Multiply', which makes all of the white elements transparent and leaves only the linework.
Its been a while but just wanted to let you know I finally sussed this... I was looking at the wrong 'multiply' setting (brush not layer tab)! Ah well, you can lead a horse to water, eh! Got it now anyway, thanks again.

RE: Poll on ways people use SketchUp
Hmm.. I've cast my votes, but just noticed 'event & conference planning' - which I do a lot of! I'd like to be the 1% but I know quite a few exhibition companies who use SU - so there's lots more of us.

There are months now that sketchyphysics 3.2 installs 3.1 !!!
Don't understand this update !?
Hmm... same thing here. I started out with 3.2 but it seemed a bit un-stable (might have been my fault - still learning). I reinstalled 3.2 but at the install wizard point it suddenly reverted 3.1. This then seemed to case more conflict & SP randomly worked or crashed. I'm also using windows 7 (x64) & SU8 - could it be this combi won't load SP3.2?
Solution for the moment is running SP3 instead - but no sound effects.
NB. has anyone actully produced an SP movie with sound effects - I haven't seen one yet.

RE: Center point of a circle
I know this a rather old thread, but I thought it worth bringing it to the surface for those (like me) who didn't know. Finding the centre of a circle or curve often seems difficult. I've been using the inference technique, but it doesn't always work easily, so I did some searching & arrived here.
And yes, provided Windows>Preferences>Extensions>RubyScript Examples is checked... then you can context click the circle or curve and 'Point to centre'. Hurrah! another gem discovered! -
RE: Semi-accidental assemblage
Well I'm seeing those alien/Egyptian guys in 'StarGate' - with the animated fan helmets.

How to quote

RE: A new home for SketchUp
"People work so hard on new plugins because they believe in your software, they even offer to help and inspire newcomers. This is pride, and I recommend your team lets that become your navigation as SketchUp develops further. Good luck!" -- Christopher Vela
Hear, hear! SU's USP I would say.

RE: Small flat
Ex-AutoCAD user... now devoted SU user, I have only recently purchased Twilight, (after much agonising over which to go for). Your render has a real atmosphere. I'm so hoping I'll attain this level too - eventually!

RE: :Kitchen Images:
I've been experimenting with the 'line overlay' technique, but having trouble. As I understand it, you set your style to 'hidden image' (no shadows) and export as png. There is no option at this opint to make your png transparent so from here, I have opened the image in PS (mine isn't actually Adobe PS, but similar) and in order to make the white spaces clear, I have to select/select similar (tolerance approx. 50) & delete. The I take the remaining line drawing & overlay on the coloured image. Having tinkered with the tolerances quite a bit, I still can't get a clean line drawing without any white pixels remaining along the lines. Is this the only method, or have I missed something? Ideally, it would be great to get the required transparent image exported straight from SU...possible?

RE: Tiny Dog (show your dog)
Pet pix...! How many millions would you like!? Here we have Izzie (Jack Russel/Border Collie - smart, obedient & a complete tart when her Daddy's around) sitting with her 'baby' Olly. In the absence of her own pup she adopted Olly & grooms him vigourously... which he adores! We also have Buddy (Cocker Spaniel - was supposed to be another JR, but I fell for him instead, even though he's the dumbest clown ever. And finally Sam (retriever - crazy young dog who found us too sedate for his lifestyle so moved in with another local labrador. It broke our hearts but was the best thing for him.
