Granted your computer is now a HAL 9000 series, much faster, but at the same time he is obsessed in finishing your work ( AKA the mission ), and the biggest danger to your work is you, so he constantly tries to kill you now.

I wish my avatar pic worked.

      Hi all!

I'm making a model of the roman forum, and i have found the geospacial data of most of its buildings on this site:

      http://dlib.etc.ucla.edu/projects/Forum/geospatial

Is this the sort of data that this script uses? and can anyone help me with converting these into a skp file??

      tks.

Really good! You can even place some low poly planes to get the sense of scale ( william T has some nice low poly planes on the warehouse)

I only see one minor problem, the satellite pic on GE shows the airport under construction, so the buildings will look like they are in a midle of a war zone until construction stops and google updates the pics.

Keep us posted on your updates!

I too a look at the airport today with GE and the only word that comes to my mind is controled chaos. Is it still like that?
Your buildings look realy great. Are you going to make all the small buildings and acess corridors?

Granted, you remembered to buy milk, but you forgot that you already had lots of milk at home, so to use all the milk before it goes bad you get a job as an office milk boy

    • RE: Beach project, any ideas??

      Hi all.

I would go with what Edson Mahfuz said, its a good idea to have themed places, but you have the risk of making weird places that look more like amusement parks attractions.

When you are doing tourist targeted places one of the most important things to know is what's the target costumers. Is it for old people, young people, rich people, poor people, international tourists, local tourists? all these expect very different things, and that will have a great impact on the project. For example international tourists expect to see more of the local culture, while some local tourists like to imagine that they are in other places.
My suggestion is to find your main target costumers and start from there.

      Hope this helps.

Granted. You are now immortal, and have all the time in the universe, but since you are immortal you don´t have and ending and a start, so you are lost without knowing where you are going to, nor where you came from.

I wish i could end all my unfinished projects!

    • Revolution in 3D

Hi all, i just wanted to share this video with the community.

      http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=rEzugxybKmA&eurl=http://digitalurban.blogspot.com/

I guess that there is a revolution coming, when these 3D prints are available to every home, we will be able to print what ever objects we want, imagine that you break the battery cover of your cellphone, just go to the cellphone site and download the part you want then print it and ready to go! Your friend has an amazing Photo frame that you really like? ask him to send it in to you and print it, go to the IKEA site and check the freebies that are available for download, will this happen in a near future?
3d objects will be send by the web. Maybe in the future simple objects will no longer be produced in factories and bought, we will have them all free in places like the warehouse on the web.
And sketchup is the simple free 3D tool available for all homes so will skp be the 3d format of the future?
