I think you just need to keep reducing the multiplier on the emmissive layer. It also helps to change the emmissive color to lower saturation and make it a darker value.

FIXED! I guess I deleted the plant while batch render was in progress. I just had to stop the rendering process, delete it again, purge unused materials, save and close. When I re-opened the model and did a test render, the plant was gone... hopefully forever. Thanks anyway... hope this can still be helpful for someone Thanks, Ed

@eddiemoney said: Silly question though, when would I save a material? Wouldn't I have loaded it from a saved location in the first place? i think its not have always loaded from the first place, since when you create a vismat, vray will make it into zipped folder (vismat file and also the bitmap used will be included (diffuse, bump, displacement, etc.)), and you can put and load it from everywhere as long as you keep it on one folder.. regards, vd

There are three things I can think of (if there is really no Z-fighting due to overlapping faces in SU): there are also group/component materials in the model. They should be deleted and materials only applied to the faces. there are different materials applied on back faces. They should also be deleted and the model exported (under the collada export options) without double sided materials. I forget the third but also make sure that your faces are oriented correctly (i.e. no back faces showing in monochrome mode).

u guys are the sh*t. thanks so much. i exploded everything first but a few of the images were lost so i recreated the wall and reapplied the images. made each one a unique texture as i went along and then exploded it all anyway in the end. check out the end result: before: [image: mg10x40wht.jpg] after: [image: 10x40_white.jpg] shine the lights on it! [image: 10x40_white_lights.jpg] i really appreciate the help! ed
