Hi Tig,
Same problem here:
Windows 11, SketchUp 2020, Java v8.191, PNG image 480x717 pixels,
ImageTrimmer starts to make 'edges files', it seems to complete the job but no component is created.
I really need this gem to work !
I hope you can help me...
Best regards,

Hi Bokkie,
Maybe you haven't the latest version, which is 3.1.0.
I've updated the page on the PluginStore, you can download here:
https://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=layer_manager

Click to see the layer name generator in action

Hi Joerg,
Please check if the attached RB file (which must be located in your main plugins folder) is exactly the same as yours.
Also check if the content of your 'DBUR_LinksManager' folder is the same as the below image:

Please report if it still doesn't load
Hi,
Thanks all, I will use tags instead of hiding faces now.
Best regards,
Hi,
Thanks for answering.
I'm working on a tower that is part of a medieval castle.
The inner spaces are quite complex (helicoïdal stairs in walls, coupolas as ceilings, and so on).
The tower is a group.
Image 1: horizontal section at level 2 of the tower, nothing is masked, no hidden geometry or hidden objects.
Image 2: the outer most cylindrical faces are masked.
Image 3: hidden geometry ('géométrie cachée' in french) is ticked, but hidden objects ('Objets cachés') ISN'T.
So it seems that, when 'view hidden geometry' is on, we cannot completely hide the masked faces.
Or did I miss something ?
Thanks for your time

Hi,
Each time I had to export SU components to FS, I exploded them. Did you try that ?
Hi all,
Anyone knows a way to avoid the annoying graphics of hidden objects ?
When working with organic shapes with a lot of soften edges, it becomes impossible to see clearly what you are drawing...
Working with sections can be a workaround, but takes way much time
Could be a feature request, don't you think ?

Hi all,
Just to inform you that the following plugins on the PluginStore have been updated:

Hello,
Yes, that's true.
I've just updated the plugin some days ago, and I wondered if I had to code what you want, and I did'nt did it.
I'll take your wish into account soon.

I’ll bet Didier Bur had not thought of that one when he developed the plugin.
Of course NOOOO...
Hello Samuel,
I've sent you the OBJ file via PM.
Regards,
A RBS file is an encrypted Ruby file which behaves just like a RB file.
I use 7-Zip to compress/uncompress archives, but any other Zip will also extract the file(s).

Thank you for adding me to the Extension Author group (I didn't know it exists

Hi there,
Here is a little script I had to code for castle walls made of 'embossed' stones.
Maybe it'll be useful to some of you.
Unzip the Zip file and move the RBS file in your Plugins folder.
Usage:
11/23/22:
Offset parameter added (see below)

Have fun!
Hi Samuel,
Here are the results with a 200k triangles mesh:

The triangles loss is far less than with a 400k mesh, but it is still there.
Regards,
Hi Samuel,
I'll try with a 200k faces mesh as time permits.
I've tried with TIG's "OBJ Importer" plugin and it doesn't decimate the triangles. Cool
Regards,
Hi Samuel,
Thanks again for this cool plugin
I use UniversalImporter to import an OBJ file that is exported from MeshMolder.
As you can see on the images, the 435488 triangles from MM are converted to a 86702 triangles mesh in SU. But when importing, UI does say "The file has 435488 faces. Do you want to reduce the number of faces ?". The triangles decimation occurs even if I answer "No" to this message.
Do I miss something or is there a face count limit in UImporter ?
