I'm self-employed, 10 hrs per weekday is normal. Of those 10, usually only 7 will be chargeable if I'm lucky. The rest goes on quotes, bookwork, maintenence and learning. I try to keep weekends free mostly for swmbo and sailing and the bloody garden. My preference, when the work comes in, is to go for it doing 12/15 hr days, and then have a couple of days off to do other stuff. Baz

All of my render work is post processed,it helps particularly when a client wants to change things, even if the model/building needs to be revised.Post means that you can not only change the environment, but because sketchup is so easy to use,the turn around is much faster than programs i previously used. Ive just recently seen that Trimble is taking over sketchup. My viewpoint is that with the plugins and rubys available to me at the moment,it dosent make a difference to what happens to sketchup as it stands.I have worked with sketchup4,5,6(skipped 7)and now 8.Right now I can build models with sketchup and have a final product I can be proud of - I dont need a new version. I guess we will have to wait and see what exactly happens with sketchup but its not like they can delete the program from our hardrives...(or can they...) David, It's a treat and a great help to follow your thoughts on this. I like this last one best! The background forest in the former one was a little "threatening". With the foreground, this is very friendly but I wonder if the owners expected a sand driveway. It looks like one of the victims of the recession. Never leased or got the parking lot. Peter

Yes, I agree: what strikes of your work is the incredible feel you give to your images. It's always great to see how you transform a render from scratch through the postprocessing phase. Congratulations! I'd like to know if the car we see in your renders are from the warehouse, or coming from somewhere else.. In case, can you point us to some of the good cars you use? Thanks a lot!

Just beautiful as always! WC effect is great. If you don't mind me asking, what were your fotosketcher settings to achieve such a soft effect. I have experimented, but have never quite gotten the amazing results you did in this render.

David I have been following and have learned a whole bunch, and am so appreciative as I use post pro on most work particularly for landscape. I could use some advice on how to approach a little task I have offered to do for a friend. He is a car fanatic, and is currently rebuilding an old truck. He wants me to show him what it would look like with different paint colors so he can choose one. I haven't seen the photo yet, but I have been mulling over the best way to get some realistic reflections from the applied colors in photoshop. Any suggestions?

A closer look to the building, also an image with very little post pro - only the trees and shrubs and a colour tone added. We haven't decided whether to go for standing seams on the copper or full panel open joints,my preference is full sheets. [image: Y8cU_poolhousepatio.jpg]
