I think it would be x,y,z. The red axis is x, the green, y and blue, z.

RE: Random Delete?
TIG, that's a neat script. I don't know what I'll use it for but it is kind of fun to make a large array and then run the script watching stuff disappear. I could see using it to create a forest.
If the elements in the array are copies of a few different components, there'd be no problems with loading up the file.

Style Thumbnails Question
I've been creating a bunch of styles recently and came across a puzzle. I have one style which shows a normal looking thumbnail image in my New Styles library but if I leave it applied to a model, save, close and reopen it, I end up with a different thumbnail. the lines are shown as very thick lines. This wouldn't be a big problem but if I export a JPG of the image, it goes out with the thick lines. Following are some screen grabs related to it. Is there a way to update the thumbnail so this doesn't happen? I've tried updating the style but that doesn't seem to fix it.
In the first image you can see the difference between the In Model thumbnail, the New Styles Library thumbnail--arrows--and you can see a bit of the drawing in the background.
In the second, you can see the results of a JPG export.
And if I reapply the style by clicking on the New Styles thumb, I get this when I do the export.
Any ideas?

Dave, don't worry about modifying your work just for us
Make what you want to make for you then show it off man. If I were to use this in a job I would probably not modify it a bit. That is unless I were placing hundreds of them, then I might cut the poly count down. Thanks Eric. FWIW, I do try to keep file sizes down when I make my models. Of course they aren't as small as they could be but they are dimensionally accurate and you could take them apart and make working drawings for your wood shop from them.

By the way guys, there is now a wood-working sub-forum that you can find at the bottom of the Board index under 'special interest groups'.
I must be blind. I can find Special Interest forums at all.

RE: Greene & Greene Thorsen House Inspired Side Table
Gidon, if you want to do it, go right ahead. I generally don't draw furniture with the intent that it'll be used as a component in a larger model. I guess I'd need to modify every one of my pieces before posting them, then.

RE: Playing with Styles
Thank you. I added the Slate style in the Styles section. I'll upload the Papyrus style when I get home from work.
Here's another one with the Old Paper style. I added some Screen Text using a font called Architect Bold.
This reminds me a bit of the photographed drawings from the Greene and Greene Virtual Archive. Like this detail of a drawing for a silver tray in the Blacker house.
I need to find a font closer to the lettering in this image.

Drawing on Slate
This image got a little bit of a contrast increase and some added sharpness.

RE: Playing with Styles
Done! Thank you.
Here are a couple of others I was playing with.
A papyrus texture.
And the same table drawn on slate.
Styles could be uploaded if there's interest.

RE: Old Paper Style
Thank you. I'm glad you like it. At Eric's request, here's a similar one with darker lines.

Playing with Styles
Here is a subtle variation on the Old Paper style I uploaded yesterday in the Request/Styles setting section. If anyone wants this newer version, I'll post it.
Straight from SketchUp
This is after increasing "Shadows" in Picasa

RE: How do I go about doing this?
Maybe the writer meant "grove"? Maybe indicating that there would be trees.

Stained Paper Style
Here's another style I've been playing with.
Shown here with a Limbert Table
Enjoy.

RE: BlackWatercolor
Thank you all for the kind words. Paul, your images are great.
I've been trying to improve it and came up with an idea to make the sky and ground color black with no gradation. I can make the sky black using Jan's Background Color script. I'm hoping that after he gets his household moved, he'll have time to add control for the ground. I think this will improve the contrast some.
Unfortunately changing the background color doesn't do the same thing as changing the sky and background.

RE: Transparency shadow threshold
Here's an example.
Rectangle with a color applied. Shadows turned on.
Picture 1: Opacity set to 70. Shadow Visible.

RE: Transparency shadow threshold
I did. I applied a color to a face. I selected it and then tried setting the threshold to .5 and then adjusted the opacity slider in the Edit materials box. As soon as the opacity dropped to 69 the shadow disappeared.
