RE: Altared Images
Paul
So glad to see you back. The Church imagery is beyond stunning.
As for your personal project, it looks to me like it is a mounting platform for The Antikythera mechanism, or a really large septic field "D" box.
Welcome back. -
RE: Why is pushpull losing a face
Another workaround I have used is to group the face, so that I guess it then replaces the stray edge, and then it will Pushpull.
But,it is always frustrating when your flow is interrupted.
The cntrl/alt key worked fine, but drawing the line as Sonder suggested sounds like a great idea as well.
Thanks again -
RE: History Lesson

Hell I was I was in a band that played in a club behind them I'm quite sure.

RE: Blenheim
I love the Model and rendering, and really enjoy hearing the history.
Churchill had a wicked sense of humour.
Thanks John and Tig. -

RE: Why is pushpull losing a face
Thanks everyone. My work around has been to group the face first, the open the group and Pushpull the face, but it is a real pain in the a**.
(Maybe this should be in the "Duh" thread)

Why is pushpull losing a face
In creating this truss, when I push pull the faces of the webs, I lose the face I pushpull from.
Happens also with joint pushpull as well.
Why?

RE: Model and render this: Glass brick/block

I'm still working on mine - I got distracted modelling this - but there are some really ingenious texture only solutions over at the Thea forum.
Seriously cool lamp! Hope you finish the model.
I wonder how using textures v/s modeling mesh alters refracted images behind the block. hmmmm...
Hope to get some time to play. -
RE: Model and render this: Glass brick/block
Thanks chedda.
I also played with this diamond block, but abandoned it as I wanted to "suggest"the figure in the shower, and the diamonds just refracted the image too much.
Even the one posted above is not quite subtle enough.
Too me this is where it got interesting as using a straight thin glass was too clear, and using a clear glass material had mixed results. I ended up adding a thin film layer in Thea.
Hope I get more time to play on this as it is an interesting challenge depending on what you want too see through the refractions.
Here is the diamond block image, and the .skp if anybody can ever use it.

And here is the wave style.

RE: Model and render this: Glass brick/block
Took a stab at it, and it had some definite challenges.
But it was fun.
Glass block via Artisan. Rendered in Thea.
