Interesting. I can't seem to find if it is using a proprietary OS or windows.

    • RE: Indipendent styles in same drawing?

You can accomplish this using the "Dennis Technique". I'm not sure this can be done in SketchUp alone.
      The pdf tutorial attachment.TheDennisTechnique.pdf
It does require a few photoshop skills, most of which are well explained in the pdf.
      Hope it helps.

    • RE: Please share your DWG/DXF import tips

One of the things I do before every import is make sure the camera is in parallel projection, top view. I can't explain why, but this has really helped to assure there are less problems down the line.
Since quite often I am receiving AutoCad drawings from others, I think I will compile a list from suggestions here and send it to the exporter as a to-do list before sending me the file.

I have also noted less problems with exports from other Cad software ie: Vectorworks, Softplan.
Edson, this is a great idea for a thread. ๐Ÿ‘

    • RE: Modelling steel joists (trusses)

      @tspco said:

That works quite well, Dave. We know that trusses (joists) can be made is different depths, lengths of span, etc. based on the application. They also come in different styles, but how are they made?
I found a website that offers a little online app that allows you to enter your loads, static and dynamic, truss depth, length, etc. It outputs the suggested truss for your application. I just threw some random numbers in the, it told me that I need a 60" deep truss, for my application and the other specs as well. Kind of fun to play with.
I dropped them a line, we will see what happens.

I wouldn't mind a link to that website if you don't mind, may come in quite handy.
In wood trusses we usually use the rule of thumb 1" of depth per foot of span, so a 5' depth sounds like quite a span. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

There are really strong anti smoking regulations in this Province. You can't even smoke within 5m from the door.

      Thanks Guys
Mike, I wish I could find entourage that works for me. I keep trying, but it always looks so PS added entourageY.
This particular set of renderings were directed totally at the local planners, who had very specific requests after our site meeting.
So they were put together to address their concerns for the function of the delivery area, An area that could be used by the local community for meetings, and a gateway from the main parking area that would highlight this, and allow the public to safely get to the lower level, building height and daylighting with concern that the elevational drop from the upper parking lot to the lower delivery area would actually work, and taking advantage of exposure for green wall style vegetation. In this case the wall vegetation is intended to be grapes and hops, which will be brewed into a limited edition wine and beer which can then be used for things like charity auctions etc.
The actual submission for the zoning amendment goes in on Monday.
      Wish us luck.
