RE: SketchUp 2013 Pro and Make FAQs
Looks like you need to make sure that you have write access to the folder and all files wherever that SketchUp.lf files is stored. I think that is license file, that points to your server license file perhaps? I forget how server licensing works.
When you run SU, make sure you run it as admin. Right click on the SU icon and choose Run As Administrator. See if that helps, and let me know what you get.

Looks like you got an issue with an object being far away form the model origin. Or you might have a component with an origin set far away from the geometry of the component.

RE: SketchUp 2014 Wishlist
I came from 3dsMax before I used SU. I sincerely feel like a multi viewport solution is a workaround to a single, well functioning viewport. To me, 3dsMax (and others) should improve their 3d modeling abilities to make it so that multiple viewports aren't required to complete a simple task like moving an object where you want it to go.
But that is just my personal opinion. It doesn't mean that multiple viewports are off the table. It just means I've never felt a need for them.

His "Click on the File Menu and Crash" reminded me of a similar report we got from Dan Rathbun. Turns out it is the exact same problem.
(This is PC only from what we have seen)
There are a small amount of users who are crashing when they click on the File Menu. So far the culprit has been the .fbx exporter. The fix is to find your SketchUp installation folder and then go to the Exporters folder. Remove the file called skp2fbx.dll. Then try to use SU again. That should be a temporary fix. If you are an .fbx user, we are working on a more permanent real solution. I supposed you could try to export from a different machine if possible.
From what we've seen, this is limited to XP SP3, and it isn't very common even on those machines. But if you see anyone around the forum complaining that SU crashes a lot, and its always when they click on the file menu, this is probably the reason.
Thanks Dave for helping troubleshoot this. I'll let everyone know when we get a fix in place. If anyone else is seeing this issue, I'd like to know about it so we can get their system info and see if they can help test any potential fixes.

My 2 screenshots are both in his model he originally posted, without moving it to the origin. Maybe that's the difference.
I'm not too concerned about it, because moving it back to the origin fixes it, and that has been known SU behavior for years now.
I'm guessing the difference must just be our video cards and how they handle SU 8 vs SU 2013.

Ahh, got it. Even when I turn mine up to 4x I still get crazy jaggy's on the rotator tool in his model, when I zoom in close to the model.

I can't even set my AA above 4 in SU. With the help of the graphics card driver software I can up it to 12, but it doesn't like its actually working in SU. How do you get it up to 40? Just buy a better card?
I'm still not seeing the rotator tool as an AA issue though. Because in SU 8 I see it always in this model. In SU 2013, I don't see it at all. And my AA is set the same on the both of them. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what part you're suggesting the AA would fix?

I think its just an SU issue. I see it particularly bad in SU 8. SU 2013 looks a bit better, but it still gets pretty jumpy to use. Try opening it in SU 8 and see if you see it too. Use the Rotate tool on a wall.

What about this version of it?
I moved the whole thing to 0,0,0. It appears to be very far from the model origin which tends to problematic. I also remade your groups, in case any of their origins were made far from their geometry.

In SU 8 you do have a Compatibility Files issue. Its the button called "Ficheiros de Compatibilidade". Click on that and it will take you to an alternate universe of files that should all be in the plugins folder. You should just be able to select all, and cut them (ctrl-x) then go back to the regular SU 8 plugins folder and paste them all in place.

Combined Fast = 0.42`So without the go_faster flag, I'm seeing SU 2013 doing the transformations about 10 times faster than it was in SU 8. Its even going about twice as fast as SU 8 with the go_faster flag.
Su 2013 appears to be about three times faster than 8 was when using the go_faster flag.
The transformation.inverse does not seem to have changed from SU 8 to 2013. I'm realizing I deleted the test from these results, but I had tested it with and without the go_faster flag and saw no difference. I could update it to do that again if it would help.
Does anyone see any holes in these tests? I could easily have overlooked something.

I don't think that DC's have any change in functionality or features from SU 8 to 2013.
I can't think of any reason why SU Make might act differently than SU Pro in terms of cpu processing. I'll ask around though, maybe someone has an idea. When I get a chance to test the code, I'll test it on both Pro and Make. Thanks everyone,
