Hello thanks for replying, I have applied ['painted'] onto individual faces within 'containers' - groups. I have now manage to adjusted [positioned/rotated/scaled/etc] using the right-click context-menu 'Texture' toolset. But I have not managed to get the right-click context-menu 'Texture' toolset to show up on curves, could you tell me why?

    • Materials

      Hello Folks
I am texturing my model and having trouble texturing individual parts
I have edited A in photo package to the exact size of the model part, but the texture keeps repeating. I have changed length & width in materials but it effects B. I have made each textures unique.

Not sure what else to try, any help as to what I am doing wrong greatly appreciated

This was after taking Dave R advice & moving the the high side of the profile so it is at the centre of the circle. Thanks for the alternative suggestion Dave, i shall give it a go.

    • Light reflections

      Hello folks
I am trying to produce the same reflection in my floor as the one above. As a novice I have just been experimenting trying to produce the same effect but i am not having much luck 😞 Any pointers would be greatly appreciated

It is the light reflection coming in from the doors that I would like to reproduce in my model

    • Reflection map placement

      Hello Folks

I have spent quite a bit of time, watching tutorials, searching forums, reading manual trying to work out were to place my reflection map.
From what i can work out so far.

      1. In material list i create new reflection layer
      2. Click into BRDFReflection reflection m
      3. In the texture editor drop down list choose TexFresnel
      4. Then click into TexFresnel Parallel m
      5. In the texture editor drop down list choose TexBitmap
6.In BitmapBuffer file browse to my reflective .png

Could someone please confirm if this is the correct place for placing the reflection map?

The reflection map is for the floor.

The render comes out to this
      http://i514.photobucket.com/albums/t342/simuk_2008/render.png

Apologies in advance if this reads a load of confused rubbish. πŸ˜•

Yes, I had this issue in the past. My problem was that the face (surface) was reversed. Use the monochrome style to see if your floor have this problem.
      Cheers!

Hi thanks for the suggestion already tried this.

[questionable]i would say that the moment when a texture is loaded into the vray material editor, it doesn't make sense to edit the texture size in SU Material editor.[/questionable]

the solution, imho, is to change the u/v repeat values in the TexBitmap slot. (so to make the texture bigger, the repeat number needs to be lower.)

Hello thanks for the quick response, this solved my problem πŸ˜„

      Hello folks
I am pretty new to v-ray. so find my self on a steep learning curve at the moment πŸ˜• I am loading a flooring vismat into my material editor & then applying to my material selection which is a rectangular surface. The floor proportions look great until i render then they become too small. Could someone tell me what I need to do to stop this happening?
