I remember the first 2 or three versions of sketchup used dock-able palettes. I still like them better than the floating ones we have now. Have you managed to make them dock again?

RE: How to: Sync your plugins folder between computers
Hi all,
i was trying to do something similar. I have both windows and osx. For windows, the options shown above work, for osx, please see:

RE: SketchUp edges missing in OS X not in Windows
Hi fernando. I have a similar computer, and experience something similar. It probably has to do with the video card drivers. If you switch to wireframe, do edges reappear?

Issues with toolbars on osx, FIX
Hi all:
On OSX sketchup, there´s a small issue with toolbars reappearing, after closing them, when sketchup is closed an reopened.
Simone, @ google gave me this info, to fix this behavior:
@unknownuser said:
To achieve the same behavior as sandbox tools toolbar they would need to have in their code something along the line of:
Show toolbar if it was open when we shutdown.
state = toolbar.get_last_state if (state == TB_VISIBLE) toolbar.restore endI have no idea of ruby, so I´m just passing this info along, hoping it helps

RE: Section planes cut improperly
Hi Tim
Please try this:
Turn off hw acceleration in skp´s preferences.
Quit sketchup (you have to quit and relaunch sketchup so hw acc is turned off completely)
Open sketchup again and try to do the section again.s

RE: Section planes cut improperly
Hi tim, just saw your movie, and it looks a lot like the bug I was describing before. Try exploding everything and then doing the section again. I bet it will go away.

RE: Section planes cut improperly
In that case, it´s certainly a video card issue. I had an aluminium imac, similar to yours (the one with that same problem). It also happens on exported images (exported images also use hw acceleration) A workaround is to use layout to export images.
Please try the attached model

RE: Section planes cut improperly
Hi Tim
Do you by any chance have an ati video card. I experienced similar problems, cutting groups and components scaled to a non regular scale/flipped. I´ve been told that it´s ati/apple´s problem. Google has already reported this problem, and all that´s left to do is wait. I no longer use that computer (it was an aluminum iMac, and i remember a big batch of these particular machines had nasty issues with the vidcard overheating, displaying weird triangles, the place i worked at had about 20 of those). I did´t see that problem on my own machine, a white macbook with intel graphics.

3D Warehouse viewer for the Iphone
Hi all,
I stumbled upon this:
Looks cool, probably more of a toy than an actual useful program, but nice either way.
Has anyone with access to an iphone tried it?

RE: Call to Mac users for script portability
Several plugins on the mac, including yours, won´t remember the state of it´s toolbars (opened or closed), between sessions. Someone at google told me that this can be fixed by including something similar to this:
Show toolbar if it was open when we shutdown.
state = toolbar.get_last_state if (state == TB_VISIBLE) toolbar.restore endSantiago

RE: Anyone use SU7 on a MacBook (NOT Pro)?
Hi Rick.
I own a white C2D macbook. It´s 2 years old, and has intel graphics. I use it with sketchup a lot, and works ok on small to medium sized models. Large models are doable, as long as you use layers to organize heavy geometry. I´m very happy with it.
About 4 months ago they launched the new macbooks, in aluminium, which are very cool, and now have nvidia graphics, which makes them more sketchup friendly. And now, just a month ago, they refreshed the low end plastic macbook with the same specs as the aluminium one, and for 999us, which makes it a very good deal imo. Go for it!

RE: [Plugin] Custom Toolbars Plugin
Hi Jim, just trying your plugin, on a mac, on skp 7, and i´m getting a crash when selecting the select tool, after using 3d text. I´m not sure if it´s a sketchup related bug, or if it´s related to your ruby.
Cheers

RE: Problem with SU6 on MacBook w. GMA 950
Hi Barry:
I also have a macbook, and also have the same problem, where some lines dissapear, and reappear when orbiting. My workaround is to use a style that has a 1px wide straight line. I'ts a bit slower, but works. The problem does not happen in wireframe, and i believe has something to do with the way sketchup draws the polygons on screen (i remember hearing that it offseted them slightly to avoid some other bug).

Chris, cool, that solves it. In my file I have a custom location also....

I have a file that has that problem also. I believe it has something to do with having different north orientations on different views.

RE: Leopard 10.5.4 damages SU?!
Chuck, I´ve noticed the orbit slowdown you mention. I don´t remember having that issue on my previous windows machine.
I´ve noticed though, that if you click with your middle button over an empty area in the model you get the slowdown, but it will work as expected if you try and orbit clicking over any geometry in the model. Similar behavior to zooming over an empty area...
Is this what you are experimenting?

RE: AutoCAD
Hi guys.
I´ve had this before, and, as described elsewhere, i´ts not a units issue. It´s easy to test by exporting a plan or an elevation, and then an iso. Plans come to scale, so do elevations, it´s only isos that come out scaled. They are scaled at .86, i believe.

I wonder where most of the people from the old forum went, @last and users..., Jim Holman, Yasser, Mark Carvahlo...
