This is a really great Idea!

Problem is, with all my templates Murphy's Law applies: as soon as I set them... I have to reformat my pc and I forget to backup them!!

while tinkering with ubuntu i tried to get a wine istallation of sketchup up and running. The good news is that it can be done and i works ok. The bad news is that most of the most advanced plugins do not work under linux, but the simple ones do.

I am looking into this new technology at it has it's uses.

I have read that it comes most useful in iternational competitions, where you have to render 20 to 40 versions of a big model in the same day.

For a freelancer or a small firm, it comes handy when time is a problem: you upload, apply materials (and even scene props like trees cars and people) and launch the render. In little time you will have a very good looking render of the scene you uploaded.

I read an inside interview on on of the creators of felix, and he said his clients are people like zaha hadid and norman foster

From my experience, printing a 300 dpi A0 format takes ages.

I would suggest to start with a 150 dpi A0 to reduce sizes and problems.

I think a variant of the Mirror Plugin, should consider creating a toolbar with 3 buttons: each one would perform the mirror simmetrically to one of the axis, asking before the operation to click on the plane to define the start of the mirror line.

It would work similarly to rot90 plugin, but for the mirror.

I'd like to shout out a free tip for all vray users: onve the scene has been set with camera, lights and materials. Before hitting render for the final image, set the view to wireframe.

In my experience of teaching studes Photoshop, they've all got to be singing off the same hymnsheet, as it were. It can take a good half an hour to make sure they've all got the same palette set-up / screen layout if you're doing it manually.
