Not sure if this is what you mean, but you can have multiple instances of SU open at the same time.

Unfortunately if you have a network license you cannot open more instances than you have licenses. We have a 3 seat network at our office and we have 5 people who will potentially be using SU. Makes it a pain when I want to copy and paste. Maybe we need a couple more seat โ“

I have been making some 2d people and such. You know, inspector Gadget ๐Ÿ˜•
I am also working on a nifty 3D face me component that I will post when finished.

      Just messing around really.

    • RE: Face me at the center.

All fine and dandy but when you create a component and check: Always face camera, the axis is at the lower left corner, always. I want to be able to create a face me component that has the axis at the center of the component. There seems to be no way to accomplish this at the onset of the component. You have to change the axis afterwards.

I guess this is more of a wishlist item. Not really a big one but it would be nice.

    • Face me at the center.

How do I get the axis to be at the center of a 3d component while creating a face me component? Is there any way to do it without having to create the component then editing the axis?

I thought you just place the center at the origin and create the component but that does not seem to work.

Nice Paul. I like the transparent over the textured surface. Makes a great effect.

    • [Tutorial > Modeling] Hidden Seam Tutorial

Many times I have two or more components that touch but I don't want it to appear that they do. I want a seamless transition but want to keep the geometry separate.

Here is a quick tutorial I created to show the best way to achieve this result.

The image below shows the before and after.

I agree... layers. And layer sets.

As for images from SU, export larger than the size you are going to print/post and then resize. Your images will be much more clear.

Hank, do you have the Weld ruby script? If not get it here: http://www.smustard.com/scripts/

Select the "broken" arc or circle and run the weld script. It makes the arc or circle intact again so your push/pull will be nice and smooth.

Thanks Tina. Our boss really likes what he sees too. We have been able to take Revit content and bring it into SU and render some nice scenes quickly with Podium.
