I just used the time in between two phoncalls from the customer to
check out the tips. Here are my results. Eggzacktelyi what I wanted.

Thanks to Gaieus help I now have K-Tools "plugged in" as well as the DrawHelix_13.rb to help me with my tower. Still I can´t seem to find a way for the tower to "grow" into the sky the way I want it to. Attached you´ll se a small handsketch of what I want to do.

Any suggestions? I´ll gladly accept any help. Thank you.

you are 100% totally right. I just discoverd that one solution just leads one to the next problem/challenge. Should I continue my quest for help and knowledge in this thread or open up a new one?

I really hate to sound like a total noob but when I try to download the stuff I get a website with ALL the code. What am I ´sposed to do with that?
I tried to put in a text file but my mac flatly refuses to change the suffix to rb.

wth? Any ideas? Would be great. Clock is ticking for me and that sucks.

Okay I know you´re all big shots and do renderings at an amazing rate but I still can´t get desired results in SU. UVTools is in the Plug in Folder (OSX 10.4.9 btw) and I tried to project a text. See attached pics.

Question, is text just not for UVTools or do I make a mistake (or more) somewhere in process?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Thanks for your two sents. NEver heard of that problem. But it´s not that either. The model is entirelly created in SU and is pretty much build around the point of origin.

Oh well. I got the pics in the end. Can it be that SU is still a pretty buggy app?

That was one of the first things I checked. Please believe me when I say there´s no plane
there. It get´s lost in the cropped picture but in SU one can see the same form as in the first pic, but only very, VERY faint. I ended up copying the second model into the first, save it as a new one and delete the first so I ended up with the second model finally having the same look as the first one but..... how´s this possible???

I have a biiiiig tent made up from smaller tents. three components make the tent.
I use it in two different models. I saved the style of one model and loaded it in the
other. I should get the same look, right? But I don´t. Aaaand I don´t get it. (we need a smylie )

Any ideas would be highly appreciated. I have none, left. Found nothing in the forum after half an hour search. Found lots of other cool things though. Alas nothing to help with my current problem and company time should not be wasted, aye? cough I know - it´s research.

Thanks Juju. Now I know it is a bug too. I used Quicktime Pro and erased the frames in quetion. In fact, my last animation had so many "flashes" that I quit SU, restarted my machine while tossing all chaches and exported it anew. Now I was only left with the flahes at the exact exact transition point which where then easy to erase w/out too much damage to the
animation.

Truth to be told, I keep pondering if I should put money into my SketchUp skills with all
the drawbacks, known bugs and limitations.
Maybe I rather pay for tutoring in an established 3D programm like C4D or something. I still can construct in SU but do animations and rendering in C4D.

Any suggestions anybody?

Heya folks

I have a little problem with the "export as animation" function.
When exporting the movie, I get a "blank" frame or two at the point where/when
the transition between one scene and the next is pictured. I tried it with and w/out
a scene delay and ended up with no delay, I have the "enable scene transitions" box
checked and seven seconds set for the time of the transitions. But in the finished
animation there´s allways a "flash" at the moment of the transition and when looking
closer I found empty frames.

Does anybody have similar problems or maybe even a solution to this allready?

Hints ´n links to where good render tutorial or info for noobs would be highly
appreciated too.
