      Hello

This is the message I get when I want to save on a specific folder.
Everything was going all right for monthes till I find myself not able to save on that folder.

On a Vista laptop I created a partition (k:) where I put all my datas; since last week SU refuse to save on that folder, but accept all sub-folders of it. The properties of the folder are valid and comparable to all the sub-folders.

I suspect Vista and its octopus security system , but I cannot find a solution.
A help would be very much welcomed.
      Marc

Did you ever solve this issue?? If so... what was the solution? If not, what other avenues have you tried and can you provide additional info??

    • RE: Phone Table & Printer Stand

boy oh boy.. how confusion sets in fast.

My point was not malicious and I was not implying anything negative. I posted the comment strictly because I noticed that when any thread is posted and no one makes a comment or replies to it, it remains in the "unanswered posts' section.

In the past few days, I've had some spare time I thought I could put to good use and check the "pile" and see if I could answer some questions if I could. I also came across a few posts that were like Dan's. Showing off their latest master piece. I think it's great that he's willing to share. I think it's great he has a site built around this purpose. A lot of folks have their site listed in the "signature" portion of the message/reply so if anyone, like me, wants to check it out, a simple click and you're there.

I did also make a suggestion that for people that like presenting their newest piece, it would be cool if their could be a "counter" link showing the number of new and viewed models in the "topic" or maybe a sub-section of the forum. The only reason for this would be that for people who have legitimate (actual) question or issues, they can get help a little faster. Meaning that when someone sets out to answer a few question, it's easy to get distracted.

No offense intended nor did I want to imply anything.

From now on.. I guess I'll have to sign off and not comment on anything.

    • RE: Scaling cursor icon?

You can increase the size of you cursor by going into the system preferences, select Universal Access, and then "Mouse & Keyboard". You can adjust the cursor size there.

It's amazing the stuff I find when I start snooping around looking for something else. Hmm.

Oh yeah.. This is for Mac OS X of course. Not sure of the procedure for Windows.

      Ciao

      Basic.woodworks....are you a ruby coder?

      No. Sorry. Why??

I'd love to get into it but I've got a short circuit somewhere between the eyes and the brain. I can't retain what I read very well. If I can see, do and experience, I can learn but when it comes down to reading... not so much. Besides that.. there are soooo many resources and books and such, I honestly have no idea where to begin. Do I need to know some math? do I need to have a basic understanding of what before I can do which?!?

As far as the ruby thing goes, I've been referred to forums for ideas but like anything else, everyone has their own opinion which doesn't make it any easier for me.

      Any thoughts of your own??

      Mike RL

P.S. you probably should reply to me email so we don't change the topic of discussion in this <<scaling cursor icon?>>

    • RE: Confirmed: Apple files suit against Psystar

Just like XP and Vista, it comes with the computer but if, as in my case, it came with an older version, OS X 9.x Tiger, and you want to upgrade to OS X 10.x Leopard, you have to install and register it the same as you would and Windows operating system (hence OS by the way).

      Hey SOLO

You think they'd let me install my copy of Leopard, which is on my Mac, onto my wife's PC?? I guess the registration might be a problem, huh?!? πŸ˜‰

so... damned if you do.. damned if you don't. You can either pay too much for Mac or pay little for PC and a bunch more to "renovate".

Being that Mac has "allowed" the ability to install widows on their computers, should they have the courtesy to reciprocate??

If a person.. say me, decided to buy a "PC" but not format it for "Windows" and install "OS X", could this not be done? or would the Bios need to be changed as well? If OS X is so much better than Windows... Why can't people do it themselves?

      hey Dan

Very cool. Though overboard might be a slight understatement. Have you got it posted on the 3D warehouse??

basic.woodworks, why are you so hot to get people to post on the 3DW?

Why not share it on 3DW?? Also, we have 7945 member, to date. All unanswered posts go into a list that can fill up fast. If everyone shared one creation in this fashion, would it not be hard for people who have legitimate questions to get an answer if we have to sift through potentially dozens of exhibition posts before hand?? Maybe if a topic could be created without the connection to "unanswered posts" or perhaps with a counter for the amount of new and previously view .skp's rather the an actual unanswered post thread?!?! Just a thought. As I am at home most of the time, I like answering posts and helping others, if I can. I may not know much but I can share what little kowledge I do possess and also by getting involved in some topic I'm not too familiar with , if at all, I learn a few things for myself.

I don't mean to offend anyone. I do think that Dan did do a great job on that wardrobe. I even downloaded it myself to check it out ...no jerseys though:( I also think that he should share it on the 3DW. It is a great piece and if he willing to share it here, why not there.

      Regards

As far as I know... no. But you might want to suggest it to Google in their feedback page. Also, is there a way to increase it's size through themes right from the computer settings

I see. I just checked out your site. You may list tour website or even advertise through the signature portion of the message but if everyone starts to "drum up business" and advertise their site in this manor, I guessing a lot of folks won't get their real questions answered. I don't mean to sound rude or pushy but the time I spent here could have been spent helping someone who had a legitimate question.

      Have a great day.

    • RE: Attaching image texture

Though I'm not sure I quite understand what's going on, are you talking about "projection"? when you apply the "brick" texture, it changes the "window" texture one the second floor?!? If that is the case and you don't want to change to windows and it's doing it anyway, deselect "projected" from the texture menu (left click on chosen urface/texture/projected).

I hope this helped.. if not .. disregard πŸ˜„

The level indicators aren't lying flat on the surface of the mixer - see the picture below. You can rotate the panel back into place.

It's more difficult working on a sloping surface. I think that - for building - I would make the main surface horizontal; then rotate it to the right angle when all the components were complete. That way most of your lines will be in the XYZ axes.

I'd also make much more use of components, as well as making each mixer module a component, you can make each knob a component - then the knob geometry is only stored once - instead of the 400 you have now.

      Bob

If you make the whole as a group, you can the edit it and re-orient your axis to match, regardless of the rest of the model. You can also change the axis at any time and reset it to it original when you're done.

so.. essentially they're building IBM compatibles with OS X rather than Windows?!? Isn't that a good thing for Apple?? I guess I should read up on it to understand the who, what and why.
