It appears to still be broken. When I click Submit, I go to http://www.sketchucation.com/wp-comments-post.php which just shows a blank, white page and the comment is not there on the Extensions List page. And I don't seem to be able to test Logged-In vs. Logged-Out because I can no longer find where to log in to that part of SketchUcation. Logging in to the group Forums here is not sufficient.

Meanwhile, the Extensions List page now shows 679 entries while my list has 678. I'd rather not go through the work of regenerating the list just to compare. Do you happen to remember what the newest entry was? If so, could you mention it in the Comments on the Extensions List page?

Adding notes in the Comments seems a good way too keep people updated and would make it easy for me to update both the text list in this thread and the HTML list at http://supowertools.wordpress.com/scfextenslist/

The above is, of course, assuming the Comments function is working. Some kind of search system has added a comment since I reported the problem over a month ago, but it seems to be an automated result for when "Extensions List" is mentioned anywhere within SketchUcation/SCF. Or it could have been done manually, it is only one entry.

My hatching tool takes any .JPG you put in 2D's Hatching folder and makes it into a new Material - you can then export these from a Model as .SKM files if needed...

The .PAT files posted are just special format text files instructing AutoCAD how to draw the bits of lines to make the pattern. You need to use these in CAD as Hatching then, export a .JPG 'web-format' plot and edit that JPG so that it can be used as a tile-able iamge via 2D Hatching...

The kml is simply the placemark (co-ordinates and such) for the GE model. There should be some further folders inside for the model file (*.dae) and the texture images.

Jon,interesting idea with the lines and vanishing points. In SU you can use guide lines to create a similar effect (I used this technique with fine art - more exatly painter - students to set up perspective scenes with them).

I recently noticed that Meshlab will do this as well, although (DAE>3DS) components need to be exploded first in the SketchUp model before export as GE4 KMZ.

Actually, I just did a test and found a problem with SketchUp components with a direct import of a KMZ-derived Collada into Blender as well...all components have their scale reset, and sometimes their orientation(?) seems to have changed. Seems like the workaround here would also be to explode every group and component in the SU model before exporting to KMZ. And my textures were removed from the model, although since they are packaged in the original KMZ folder it should be possible to reassociate them in Blender easily enough. Or maybe not so easily, if you don't understand Blender's texture mapping tools.

Also, Blender has a display limitation (similar to SketchUp's infamous "clipping error") in the unit dimensions of a scene...chances are that you need to scale any architecture-size SketchUp model down, considerably, before export so that it will be visible properly in Blender.
