Hi guys, My sketchup often quits unexpectedly or I get the rainbow wheel of death where the application is not responding.

It's not so much of a problem in that it always autosaves, but it has happened around 7 times today and I have online been working for 4 hours.

So how can I reset sketchup get rid of all the materials etc.

I'm working on and imac and the sketchup is version 7.1.

At work I have SketchUp on the mac, I'm the only person on a mac at work and may be moving to PC. Is the license transferable? Thanks

Is it possible to create a cross gabled roof as in my attachement, using this software as when I have tried I end up with one roof higher than the other. i'm still using the free version for the time being.

I have just come across these two plugins which will really help me speed up my work. (I design garden lodges some with flat roofs some with pitched roofs)

has anyone got any tips and tricks? Any other great plugins windows/doors?

This is what I would like the component to do.

Okay so this will hopefully be my first dynamic component. i read and completed SketchUps flag demo but still feel confused (this tends to happen when I see formula)

Attached is the component image.

Firstly should I have the top of the decking separate to the bottom, at the moment it is one object?

I only need the component to move along the red and green axis, so will I only be changing the size attribute. In fact I could possibly get away with only have one axis that is dynamic. I believe position is unimportant for this.

Apologies if I sound vague.

What were these produced in sketch up and ???, they are really nice and as stated you have a great eye for a picture.

Working on a imac.

I have inserted my image - right click - scale - then there are options such as 1:50, 1:200, 1:1000.

Is there a way of specifying my own scale say 1:75 or 1:33.3. When I grab the blue frame there are measurements changing in the bottom right hand corner, if I go to alter these by moving my arrow away from the blue frame the measurements lock so I can't type in the box. Does that make sense.

This is an issue for me as I'm being asked to do plan and elevation drawings in sketchup.

I remember in windows to save a component I'd go through the programs windows. How the hell do I save a component on a mac.

I have drawn a bunch of 2D parts for repeat use, I'm using SKP 7 on a macintosh. I have tried drag an drop but am a little confused there appear to be two components windows.

While were on the subject how do you delete components, or even better reset sketchup

I have this nice sky image see attached, I'd like to have a similar nice image with trees/forest in the background. Where the hell can i find such an image I have searched many sources from texture libraries to flickr. thanks for any help.
