    • RE: Can't work with SketchUp --> Vue 7

very unusual results. I did have problems with importing some skp files, but 3ds and obj worked well for me.
Lately I use Collada to bring my files to vue 7, works great, give it a shot.

    • RE: V-Ray: Depth of Field

there is actually a number of free ruby scripts that allow you to eather mark camera location or even tell you the distance to a particular object, this takes out all guess work of setting the distance in vray

CameraDistance.rb - Returns the distance to an object in the direct line of sight.
cameraLines.rb - Connects all cameras of all pages with lines. (needs more then one page)

There is also old Film & Stage plugin that kind a works in sketchup 7, allows you to mark camera location, and do all the measurement.

    • RE: [need] automatic exporting

I once had similar problem (glorious days of architecture school).
I unchecked "Enable Scene Transitions" and exported as animation. In Save As dialog choose jpg. tiff, png instead of AVI. As a result you will have all your scenes exported as images without you having to sit there and do it one by one. It will still take some time, but at least you can rest πŸ˜‰

okay. Found the bug. will be fixed tomorrow. Thanks for replying !

      edit: Done.

Thank you! It works well now.

I came across two small problems. First, when I click back button on a browser it goes back to whatever site i was viewing before instead of previous page. Not really a biggy, but from time to time I forget and loose my place on a site.
Second, I made a mistake and accidentally gave a poor rating to a material that I really like. There seems to be no way of undoing or changing that.

Other then these small annoyances, it is a nice site and a great idea. Hope it grows and stays free

    • RE: ShetchUp 7 and vista

what exactly seems to be the problem? any kind of error? crash? Your post lacks information.
As far as sketchup on Vista, In my experience it installs and runs just as goon on Vista if not better then XP.

when you deal with DC or for that meter with any components pay attention where your "component axis" are. I fixed your file. I did not edit or alter any of your settings all i did is relocated axis of the door components.
      I hope this helps

This brings up the question; would anybody be interested in adding bump/displacement and shininess/specular maps to them? They could then be turned into a series of textures for different rendering apps.

I used to use CrazyBump, it produced great bump maps automatically. Maybe someone got that soft to convert these textures? πŸ˜‰
