Still fooling with the Vray for Sketchup renderer demo at home but 3dmax at work. (And not too many days left so decision time soon! )

Is there a magic setting to get the output from Vray in Sketchup to be the same as 3dmax?

I find 1.6 on the camera to nearly get me there, but not close enough for overlays in Photoshop later.

And very hooked on the Vray for sketchup, as an Architect a quick rendering with one less step sometimes is all that is needed rather than the full 'bells and whistles' of 3ds max.

Using the demo version 1.05.03 and a few days into it. Although have done an aweful lot of reading, I guess I have a very long way to go.

I find some textures apply to the model and display as a colour. But some don't. I also find that I end up with multiple materials on a face sometimes and the only way to avoid this is to start with a blank and adulterated model if wishing to change materials.

Is there a workaround for this?

I am having my first try at some simple experimental Vray renders and have run into a couple of issues.

When I have applied materials to a number of faces and render it is fine. When I change these faces with alternate materials, it still works ok. But when I then try to use a Sketchup material and/or a jpeg texture via the sketchup menu (not the Vray menu), the Vray seems not to notice the exchanged texture.

Yet it will recognise the texture if it is never changed at commencement of a new file and render.

Any suggestions?

I have only just started using layout so am uncertain if I understand how it is best utilized so bare with my queries.

To explain, I currently have made a presentation using 1 model, this model in sketchup has many views transferred to the layout page.

I am quite pleased with the presentation and I therefor was wondering, is it possible to create and/or reuse this or a base template such that I only need to reimport the model with all the same views?

I wish to provide the same setup in layout with substitued models as I duplicated the first modeal and saved many variations.

My Layout presentation has about 8 views.
