      Killing time and whipped this up today using a design from an old house plan catalog.

          Agreed, has atmosphere and I look for that more than geometrical perfection.

            Thanks. The cut grass looked ugly so I went with some wild grass and a meadow scatter with a trail leading to the back. I think weathering of any sort is key. Now it looks like some old guy or gal lives there.

                @Bryan-K Thanks.

                Did some changes to the design here and there to make it look more like the original design including the landscaping but I kept the "meadow" scatter grass.

                I also added 3D siding using Instant Architect.

                    Oozes cosiness. I like the camera angle of the 1st render and the worn path with scattered stones.

                    Both are great though.

                      @Rich-O-Brien How about... this one?

                      The 57 Chevy is from 3D Warehouse. Modeler unknown.

                        @Gus-R I love me some noise. That's a really cool vibe. It does have that 50's camera look to it.

                        It's missing Dennis the Menace! πŸ‘Ώ

                        I actually loved Thea's approach to camera lenses where you could generate all sorts of looks based off real world sensor data.

                        This is so good though. Have you tried a cooler light colour for the interior?

                          @Rich-O-Brien Thanks. Cooler light on this? No. I just cranked it up on the warm side and stuck a flaming hot fire in the fireplace. I could try that later or just shutting off the lights.

                          The noise is just "add noise" in Photoshop. I also added a sepia filter above that. It's two layers in Photoshop. Three if you include the sepia photo filter. I wish I could have done this stuff in my 20s..

                          Overall I surprised myself by getting this done within 48 hours. Usually I'm noodling with everything and trying to be perfect. Perfectionism is a real hindrance to creativity. Just do it I guess.

                              @Gus-R stunning! Love the vintage feel of these renders.

                              I’m watching the show Mad men right now, these pictures are straight from that era.

                                @pixelcruncher Thanks. Now I'm tempted to buy a nice 57 Chevy from CG Trader and modeling a couple more of those old house designs. Maybe not I don't know. I have regular work to focus on.

                                  The progression is great, fantastic.

                                  As fart as the car goes, when motor mechanics think they have top be paid on parity with neuro surgeons, the telephone numbers add up.
