Toposhaper Problems
-
Hello everyone,
I have a problem using toposhaper with my points cloud . I attached herein the file for reference. A QS has drawn from the study land and profiled the topo points in 3D. When importing in sketchup, they appear thus in 3D. However when launching toposhaper, I have this message (when the whole points cloud is grouped) : Selection does not contain Guide Points ; or an alert icon (when the points cloud is exploded).I'd be really grateful if you can help,
Best regards,
François

Can you check if the Construction points are themselves enclosed in individual groups, or if there is an intermediate group.
Also, verify that the Contruction points are real Sketchup Guide Points and not crosses drawn with 2 segments.
Possibly, you may attach the skp file to your answer.

Good afternoon @fredo6,
Thank you very much for your prompt answer. Please find in the attached the file itself as per your request.
Best regards,
François

@francoisvienne1 Your points are components instanced at the required altitude.
Edit the component containing the component instances. Explode the guide point components so you have guides point realised into the model space.
Exit group and then try generating terrain mesh.

Hello Fredo, nice to meet you in the first place I have many addons from you and they are incredible. Regarding toposhaper please help me.. I have a terrain generated starting from an import from dwg. with 3d polylines. The problem is that the curves are not contained in the terrain as if you do it let s say with the native "from contour". In the pictures you can see the curves ( i activated transparency) and then without it you can see that in many areas they are inside the terrain. Can I make a setup in order to have the terrain exactly on the curves? I have tried to divide the curves with Tig's C points at vertex and than to use your trimesh terrain but it s a huge task, i prefere it from curves -
The Quad terrain does not respect extacly the isocontour curves. This is the price to pay to have a nicer quads surface.
However, the surface is close enough to the curves.

Indeed, thank you for the answer. Nevertheless I increased the mesh at maximum and now it s veeeeryyyy close, so yes, I m pleased with the result. For users like me...PLEASE LOOK IN ALL THE PARAMETERS and change the grid to where you consider it is sufficient. Again, thank you for your genius addons, I use them a lot, sketchup would be a pain without them. -

Just select the Group from outside and launch TopoShaper.
