so after a quiet spell tweaking things and optimizing code we have some new features.
firstly there's a gallery page where you view your uploads...
...here you can view, edit, delete or share any model publicly or privately.
The edit area is still getting tweaked but it a simple to use area...
click the .gif below to see the material editing in action
...material editing is done via picking in the viewer and adjusting some sliders
but if you use our materials we have in the shop then the magic happens automatically. bricks, woods, glass all look great without fussing around.
-
Nice bricks Rich.
The revolve is nice too because it allows you to see 360 of the model even on a phone.
The day touch works you'll want hide because I will be on a plane on my way to kiss you.
I was writing this as you posted above, as I'm on my phone I can't check out all the goodies just now. -
We just can't wait to get this tool out.
Server setup starts Friday. Closed beta next week. Roll out April hopefully.
It'll be nice to get time to participate in forums again too.

I'm curious how it responds to something with a fair bit of repetitive geometry.

Very slow to load but once it did, it looks pretty good and behaves well.
-
Thought it might be very slow. Not a big file but lots of components.
I'm now in the amber nectar supply facility using my phone and it really doesn't want to load.
Yours on the other hand loads in a couple of seconds. -
I hope you are purchasing some good amber nectar.
-
Indeed I am. Testing many to get the right one. Much like a famous explorer, I may be some time.
-
Let us know if you need us to send someone to extract you from the testing process.

All is good Dave, fortunately I have my Grandfathers jeans, he left them to me in his will and they have saved me once again.
Unfortunately Grandfather drowned in a vat of whiskey and it was those very jeans that allowed him to climb out 5 times to have a pee.

@Box - Yes your model loaded slow (even slower than the one I shared) but boy I sure wish I had the ability to draw something like your model...
I have been at this for about 18 months now and am still learning something new every day (mostly in this forum). As I look back at some of the equipment models I have drawn and now include in my layouts, I see things that could be improved. I am thinking seriously about going back and updating some components/models.
I car wash that I posted in this thread is a good example. If you get inside the building and look at some of the equipment there are pieces that need to be improved. I just "threw together" the model I posted to see how something like that would look. I keep trying to find ways to get the company I do the drawings for to step in the "next generation" and use some online technology instead of relying on the printed versions. But I digress.
When I see the work of people like you, Dave R, Pilou, Rich and some others, I think "if only I had that kind of talent". I am not an engineer or an artist but I sure do enjoy this stuff in my retirement.......
