[Plugin][$] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.8a - 30 Mar 24

There's got to be something more to it than that. Round Push/Pull works fine on a cube here. What's different about your model?

Any model. A simple cube is already enough.
It works fine on a simple cube.
So there must be something special in your model, most likely polluting edges.
Anyway, I fixed the problem and it will go in a next version of LibFredo6.
But it's better to know why you have the problem.Fredo

I'm sure Joint Push Pull v4.4b has generated multiple groups at once for me. I just can't recall what choice of options do this. Anyone know? Think I chose the face by face option ... but can't seem to replicate the multiple group results.
OK. Just realized that multiple groups are generated when the faces I'm push/pulling are not connected.

It would be great if you add the thickness to the surface and add the option to delete the surface after grouping

The native PushPull does not have this option.
Although this could be possible, I think there are enough options in JPP. It is easy to remove the face after push-pull. -
1.copy surface to buffer
2.execute JPP
3. paste in place
4. delete -
I don't understand. The grouping in Group PushPull 2D Faces is individual by face, which is not supported by JPP.
So this is two different features.
-
It would have been nice if there was an option of giving the thickness similar to the Autocad Exturude command! .. Yes, it is a waste of time but we can easily remove the remaining surfaces. Achievements in your studies Fredo6
"Group PushPull 2DFaces" will not need this plugin! .. thanks Fredo6

I am sorry for my English

Dear Fredo,
Hello, I kindly reach you to mention a problem in the Joint Push Pull plugin.
When I model organic shape or complex surface(Almost curve form or tensile structure) Pushing of the surface is not moving well and also I have tried to copy of surface and then use Curviloft to close it but it also doesn't work properly. What should I do exactly in this Situation? Thanks in advance.
Sincerely
Hamidreza -
Could you post the model with the Tensile surface, so that I can try to investigate the problem with JPP.
Also, can you use the Extrude tool in JPP (X marked) instead.

Dear Fredo,
Thanks a lot. It works when I use the Extrude tool in JPP (X marked). Thanks in advance. -
Hi Fredo, i noticed that JPP will treat group copies as instances - i think it would be great to bypass this and have it treat groups as separate. perhaps something for the next update cycle...

Definitely. This happens for freshly copied groups, that behave as components until you edit them. I need to correct this as I did in FredoCorner. Just some work!

fantastic! : )

Hi, first of all I really like this plugin and I have been using it for some time now. Somehow the face selection via surface stopped working for me. The plugin only selects by face if I set it to surface.

Weird... May be you could
- open the Ruby console before launching JPP to check if there are errors
- post your model, or show a short video of the problem

I opened the Ruby console and then started the plugin, but there was no text in the console, so I think there's no problem there.
I don't think that there's a problem with my model. I tried it on different models and it wasn't working either.
Maybe there is a problem with LibFredo? I updated it last week and I haven't noticed any problem before. I tried reinstalling LibFredo and JPP, but it didn't fix anything. Here is how it looks in SketchUp, no error message, just not working as intended:
-
In Sketchup, surface is defined by a set of faces whose common edges are soft (so not smooth).
Can you check in your model.
Also, what happens when you turn off "Hidden Geometry" ?
-
Round Push Pull with minimum number of rounding segments = 1, that would be nice (Now it's 2)
