The two products will be kept separate. Vertex Editing and Bezier Patches are two completely concepts and mixing it them would just complicate the plugins and make them more difficult to market.
Vertex Tools will be getting an update before I fully focus on Bezier Surface.
Lately I've not had time to work on either. I've had to take care of non-computer related stuff. (a.k.a. real life)

Yup! I felt I needed to slip a tease in order to keep up the pressure of working on it. I've had a quiet period for a while now. But it ain't easy with summer coming up 'n stuff.

It won't be a replacement. Vertex Tools and Bezier Surface do their very own specialised function.

I really like the look of the bezier handles in the screenshot.
Will there be both linked and unlinked handles for smooth and hard corners? -

Yes. And manual and automatic interior points.
