[Plugin][$] RoundCorner - v3.4a - 31 Mar 24
-
I noticed this plugin could not smooth this vertex.
However, I was able to bevel it manually without any problems.
If you wanted to sharp the corner, you could do this:
And, if you wanted to round the corner, you could do this:
Please post an update.

Hi,
I am just wondering if anyone can help me. I have installed both lib fredo file and the round corner plugins as instructed, however when i launch sketchup, i get a warning message that says
*"Cannot load plugin Round Corner because the script cannot create DEFPARAM_Dir folder in: Users/kylebc86/Library/Application Support/Google Sketchup 7/ Sketchup/ Plugins
Please create it manually respecting the case"*
Anybody have any idea what i need to do. Thanks in advance

Kyle,
Just as the message says, create a folder named DEFPARAM_Dir in the directory Users/kylebc86/Library/Application Support/Google Sketchup 7/ Sketchup/ Plugins
The script cannot create it by itself, probably because of some security settings on your Mac.

Brilliant, thanks Fredo, had a feeling it was something as simple as that.

Salut,
C'est très très lent sur ma machine. Une solution ? -
Dear All,
I recently update to sketchup 8, get the last fredo lib (3.4c) and the last roundcorner plugin.
I also change windows to mac os.
I have tried roundcorner plugin on sketchup 7 on windows (work fine), sketchup 7 and 8 on Mac (just crash or really lagy).
Any idea for this problem?I am using Mac os 10.6
Thank for reply,

Juju,
Can you be more explicit:
- when is it slow: when you luanch it, when you select edges, when you generate the round geometry?
- when does the crash on Mac happen?
- is it slow for complex models or regradless?
Thanks

Hi Fredo,
First congratulation for this plugin (very usefull).
I will try to explain my problem clearly in English (i am french native)
To be more explicit:
I have made some tries with complex and very simple models (simple cube), the problem is exactly the same.
(I might think that the problem come from the ToolBar display, but I am not expert).- When I launch the tool, sketchup became lagy (almost freezing) and the toolbar make long time to appear (minimum 20 seconds).
- It is mostly impossible to change the parameters on the tool bar (take 1, 2, 3 minutes to respond). I also try to change the settings with the Sketchup toolbar (the one at the right bottom) and the problem is still the same.
- The probleme is the same if I want to select an edge.
- If i do not change parameters (avoiding me 5 to 10 minutes of waiting), I can validate the action and Sketchup does the round corner. But it is also very laggy (2 to 3 minutes between my click and the corner drawing).
To resume, Sketchup become really lagy as soon as I launch the round corner tools.
The strangest thing is that when I use the round corner, not only sketchup freeze but my whole mac interface.
I hope my explanations are clear.
Thanks for your help,
Julien -

Julien,

Do you notice the same lagy behavior when you use my other plugins using the button palette interface (such as Curvilft or Tools On Surface)?
-
When you execute the operation (click with green check mark), do you see the progressbar immediately and then progressing slowly, or do you see it appearing only at the end briefly? This will tell me if the problem is in the GUI refresh or in the global execution of the ruby code.
-
Also, do you have a real crash on your Mac, or is it just álmost freezing'?
To Mac users: Do you have the same bad experience with RoundCorner?
Fredo
-
Fredo,
- Your other plugin such as Tools On Surface work fine (I just download and test the last version of Tools on Surface)
- Yes, the progress bar is working normally (As soon as I execute the operation, progress bar works and quickly). The difficult and laggy thing is to launch the operation.
- Not a real crash, my commands doesn't respond until sketchup come back to normal.
Hope it helps
thanks -
If it can help, here is an extract of my ruby console for One operation:

Do you have the performance problem on Windows too?
Also, Can you download and install Curviloft. It includes LibFredo6 3.5, and it is better to see if the problems also occurs with this more recent version (the issues seems to be with the GUI).

Then, it would be helpful if other Mac users could tell if they have similar performance issues.

Fredo:
I use Mac OS 10.6 and SketchUp 8.
I have dropped RoundCorner%202 & LibFredo6%203 into the
plugins folder which is nested in the
Sketchup folder which is nested in the
Google SketchUp 8 folder which nested in the
Application Support folder which is nested in the
Library folder which is nested in the
Hard Drive iconWhen I start up SketchUp 8 I see no new tools in the Tools drop-down menu.
Please tell me what I've done wrong.
Thank you

Hi Cliff,
You may need to activate it under Preferences (Sketchup menu on the Mac) > Extensions first.

cliff, those are the folders you're left with upon unzipping.. you have to open those folders to get to these files:
%(#FF0000)[ROUNDCORNER_Dir_21
ZLoader__RoundCorner.rb]and
%(#FF0000)[LIBFREDO6_Dir_34
LibFredo6.rb]those four items go in the plugins folder at the same path you stated in your post.
that aside, i'm wondering if it's ok to upload an installer when someone on the forum has a question such as this..
packagemaker comes with osx developer tools and it's pretty easy and fast to make an osx .pkg -

And it let the user install to the correct SU version if he/she has multiple?
