kitchen made with Modlumi Kitchenmaker, imported in Sketchup, rendered with Rayscaper, character Gemini/Maginfic upscale

The issue with KitcheMaker is that it doesn't generate components. This means a lot of extra work whenever you want to change things like glass-front cabinet models or handles...
-
Yep that is groups, but seems to me there is a plugin by Thomthom 2(?) who transform Groups in Components !
PS Version of IngeTrazo KitchenMaker for SU 2017 is on the French Section!
(following my image of cameras' horn)
Of course the Plugin .rbz for SU 2017 is in French but...
-
Yes it was ThomThom !

You select all your separated groups say 10 , launch the plugin Groups to Components
You will have 10 Components !
Of course don't know the compatibily of this plugin with version of today but...you can Install SU 2017!
Tested in SU 2017 That works fine!

Groups2Component.zip!

@pilou I think I might add this as a plugin.
-
@Krass Very impressive! I will look at creating components instead of groups.

A heads-up from my side.
I will be open-sourcing modlumi. My initial thinking was to build it into a commercial application like Rayscaper with a fixed license. But with all the SketchUp competitors popping up (IngeTrazo, Hew3D, etc.), not to mention all the crazy stuff from Adobe clones, I don't think that makes sense anymore. I think open-sourcing it lets more people enjoy it and actually helps its development by building a growing community around Modlumi.
My plan is to offer it for free as open source, but build enterprise and AI features and add a subscription model on top that might entice paying customers (similar to what these guys are doing: https://getartcraft.com/). If you don't care for that, that's okay; the software is free to use without these features.
I will need a couple of days to scrub some PII from the source code, then I will open-source it on GitHub.
Any thoughts? For me, it's also a new experiment in navigating software development in this brave new world. But I feel the old ways of doing things are dead.

I think youโre right.
On the other hand, I truly believe that Rayscaper fits in perfectly; as a V-Ray user, I know I can replace it with Rayscaper for essential tasksโitโs much more user-friendly.
Iโm planning to try using the Rayscaper Scatter feature as a "fur" toolโfor things like rugs, for instance. Other options tend to make V-Ray (or other path-tracing programs) feel clunky and cumbersome.
What really frustrates me is seeing how interior design and decoration training programs expect decorators to master V-Ray. I often end up with clients who need to complete their training using this "over-complicated mess" of a program, and they reach out to me for helpโso Iโm forced to use V-Ray to get the job done! -
Rayscaper will stay commercial. The model is a bit different there. Also, people who don't wanna really want to pay for SketchUp are also not gonna pay for Rayscaper. Different user groups.
-
Certainly.
The principle of subscription-based payments for software is a fairly recent development and represents an abuse by major monopolies in the IT sector. -
Seems Open Soursing the modeling part is a reasonable solution!

For the moment your are the best against the growing number of free others!
