Seems you can make something with the Taper function inside the plugin?
But seems you don't escape to make an intersection and some delete! 😲

Another thing to consider is that changing the order in which you do things might change the outcome. Pilou's second example shows that with his opening drawn before the wall is given thickness. An alternative might be as shown below.
          arches.png

Or maybe you break the thing down into a single copy of the repeating element and, once you've drawn it, copy that as needed.

Hello Fredo, You mention the need of LibFredo6 5.4 (the most recent available as of now) for JointPshPull, but I get the message ''need library 55 or higher'' on startup, and the plugin will not work. Where can we get LibFredo6 5.5 ?

            Thanks CC

You could try this thread: http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323%26amp;t=17947 but you should really install the Sketchucation Plugin Store and auto-install plugins.

I've installed the latest version and still have no luck with the new joint push pull in Windows 8.1. The old joint push pull still functions. I have a similar problem with AMD 7700 video card with latest updated driver and the following installed
                extensions:SketchUcation
                3DxSketchUp

You have the new AND old versions of JointPushPull listed.
Disable the older one and restart and see if that helps.
If so, then remove its .rb file permanently from the Plugins folder: it is not normally meant to load side by side with the newer 'Fredo...' version. 😕

Incidentally, what exactly are these listed items ?

Dialog Bulge Push Smooth Smudge Grab Planar Lock

I assume you do mean Extensions rather than Plugins ?
What does their description say ??

Also giving us info in your SCF User Profile - about your OS and SketchUp version helps us help you 😒

For info, the old and new versions of Joint Push Pull can safely coexist.
And all my plugin are enabled as active extension by default and have their Toolbar visible by default at first installation.

I think the problem comes from a wrong installation, and anyway should be clarified by BruceG. What is the problem exactly?

                    • the plugin does not appear
                    • There is an error message at startup of Sketchup
                    • JPP 3.2 does crash or does nothing when launched,
                    • etc...

Without this information, it is difficult to assist.

                    Fredo

To Undo, you can freely use Ctrl-Z within the plugin, or click on the Orange backtrack Arrow in the button palette.

To redo, select the faces you want to push-pull and just double click

As a brand new user to Fredo's tools I am sure that this is all incredibly amazing.

Only thing is that the GUI looks garbled on pretty much anything other than the standard DPI settings of Windows (which is much too low for nowadays high resolution screens):

                            http://666kb.com/i/cm74vc86gocwgwb5h.png

This is with Windows screen DPI set to 125%.

Anyway, keep up the great work

Honestly, the obvious abundance of functions has frightend me off so far -- all the more since (additionally) I can't really seem to read what everything does. It's stupid I know, but maybe it is only decades of bad experience with garbled UI's that puts me off to even try and touch these tools.

Maybe there is inside the function that you have always dreamed! ☀

Agree with Pilou 100% - the plugin writers on here are coming from dozens of different design backgrounds and cultures - so you can expect some individuality in interfaces (and some unique and different approaches to problems), and fredo's tools are great tools - out of all the tools I suggest you start on something like vector or normal (multi-face push-pull) they're pretty amazing all on their own, some serious time savers here.

It is advised to keep a 100% resolution because the scripts have no control over the size of the text displayed in the GUI.

Some functions are also available in the VCB and contextual menus.

                                          Thanks for signaling.

It is on my list to provide a safe generation mode, as a backup to the current generation mode (which is fast, but assumes the shape is not ill-formed).

For your model, the problem comes from a lot of lonely vertices (i.e. split edges).

                                          JPP Error fantoosh.png

I suggest you clean them up with, for instance, FredoTools::EdgeInspector or Thomthom's Cleanup.

Then the generation happens without error.
