Rock, the plugin in question is attached. You can access it through the Plugins menu. There are 3 options, Normal, Spiral, and U-Shape.
Normal is just a straight run with a railing on one side. The steps are a group and the rail is a group.
Spiral is a circular or elliptical stair depending on the Max,Min width input. It is a single group.
U-Shape now accepts "turn steps" which replace the landing if defined. This is a single group also.

Andrew, I will take a look at your suggestion and see what I can do. Some are trivial like asking for and using a given gap between the runs and the height and offset for the handrail. The "in-situ" option not so trivial but I'll see what I can do.

Also for your u-shape stair maybe add a tread thickness and make treads components... Just helps with edits.

Andrew, I think I have incorporated all the changes you suggested except make the treads components. Maybe in version 3.
