KT fast start 4Architects (Kerkythea render engine)
-
I prepared a simple interior scene.
pls see scenes in sketchup , there r some tips there , then export your model to kt.
adjust steel materials and dielectric and also thinGlass materials,
then go to setting-->sun and sky-->next-->choose sky color as white and set intensity to 2.
use render preset 6 and render.
you also may open my kzx file that i've attached and is ready to render and render it.
cheers majid

dear Edson.which render engine do u use? as i am a freeware user, i've used KT for a long while. ( i tried pov-ray but confused by errors, also it was the same whit indigo). and i think it is fast and easy enough to try it. so pls give it a try .and maybe my tutorial can help you!!!
-
i have been using podium for about a year (run a search under my name in the gallery and you will see a couple of renders i produced with it). it is the one that suits my needs best at the moment. but i have not written KT off. i may give it another try when i have the time.

Master Edson, then you are actually a Kerkythea user. You're just using it with a simplified interface.

Majid
I was wondering if we can use your interior model for our 'Render this challenge'?

yes for sure dear solo . i think it's composion needs some work . maybe a ceiling light or something vertical at the left part of the view can help the composition to be more balanced. it would be very nice to see what results would be achieved

i can?
this is my version, I made some changes in the textures and lighting, but it is practically the same scene,i can or may be better off?
-
rcossoli, you encoraged me to do some more renders whit different light settings , your light setting is really good. congrats!
-
thanks majid
I did was add a few points of light to the left and change the direction of the sun to illuminate more of the scene right and lower values to the point of light in the lamp then this is a more even illumination
and add some more material and reflections on the floor -
as some KT masters awared me , my thin frosty material was tricky ,and maybe the only way to make correct material is using "layered materials" ... and also describing "how to make layered materials" was not easy to write , so i made an wink exe tut, that describes how to make a simple layered material ( also it is a thin frosted glass).it is a bit tricky to , but much much more better than what i've described in "fast start" guide.
cheers
-
thanks
I guess you can use this method of layer for all materials -
yes, in fact layers and sub layeres are one of the powerful tools of KT, but i've prevent to describe it at "fast start4architects" because of a bit confusing. by the way i guess by seeing the wink tut and after a while you will be familiar enough whit layering system.
and was the wink tut useful and clear enough? -
Yes, clear and simple, thanks again

cheersMind to create this in some other format - flash or what ever platform independent.

Hi Majid,
some feedback on your tutorial (the pdf-one).
I've downloaded it and i am reading it right now. Couldn't wait and downloaded the mat-scene2 also and opened the matscene2.kzx in KT, but he says that he is missing jpg's in the folder 'c:\Program Files\3d\Kerkythea Rendering System\fast start etc.
Which is correct since i've put the download in another file and unzipped it there, but do i really have to create this folder on my c-drive or can i leave them in another one and point to that one?
(sorry if my question is too sone and the answer is in your tut but i was a little unpatient and wanted to give it a tryRegards,
Fr@

many many thanx for feedback and so sorry...
first you must do a right-click over "Diffuse" and select second icon (that is for choosing bitmaps):
and then browse for textures:
here are textures, UNZIP them where you've downloaded the matscene

Okay,
thanks for your reply (and for your tut!), will give it a try -
This is very much appreciated. Thanks for your generosity.
-
Thank you so much, this is really nice.

I've got a problem with the light though.
How can I fix this?
