I wish text to image did not exist but there is no doubt but grudgingly these images are very impressive. I feel the skills a lot of us have devoted our skills to learning how to model and render are almost redundant. But that felling will be felt by many. Doctors, lawyers, musicians and admin etc Jus saying. What others feel about AI

@hieru said: @krisidious said: I require people to pay in phases. Sketch, Preliminary and the Construction docs. They pay at the beginning of each phase. That sounds like a good approach - I think I'll have to give it a go some time. Normally I rely on a rock-solid contract and a 50% deposit (if they won't pay that then it's usually a good indicator that you'll have trouble collecting your fees at the end of a project). Same process here. Worked well for the last 10yrs

@daniel said: I wonder why "real film" and not digital? They are both nothing but a medium, but I would think digital would be so much easier for editing and distribution. Film [media] is still considered the 'art', and the quality far superior, the major disadvantages are actually the 'shoot' day logistics, matching stock, waiting for rushes and clearances... the majority of british films I have worked on use both, digital for high speed and super high speed action, film for dialog and majestic images... digital is catching up... both are expensive to do well, but digital can be done on the 'cheap'... I have friends working on this series of films and they say that security is the most extreme they have ever encountered... I do special physical effects, and a lot of these can be enhanced with digital effects, but not economically replaced... [ yet ] john

Did anyone get the sound bite? The bird has a microphone. And, yes, we do need to ponder. Edible 3d printing is gearing up.

Thank you Yes 365 is a big number. If she manages to get this funded though it should be amazing: seeing the progression of a whole year, the cycle of the seasons, through the paintings. Unearthed: yes, as if painting in oils wasn't challenging enough, the issues of working outdoors add a whole new set of complications. Louise has found ways to deal with this, although on occassion she does return home with almost as much paint on her as on the canvas! Thanks for the kind words everyone. It means a lot. A.

It was odd to see this on the news - it felt more like a unique painting or sculpture being destroyed. Although I've never been to see the building, I (like most people) am pretty familiar with it & particularly fond of the design details. I am quite sure Glasgow School of Art will be restored with every care - the building is held in such esteem by all.

Many years ago when I was an apprentice, I bought a beautiful leather covered 100' tape. We were on the job laying out some trusses, being very careful to put them on the mark but I could see that something was wrong. Some of the trusses were crooked. I had bought a tape that was in decimal feet. I didn't know such a thing existed. My first lesson in different measurement systems. Like I say, it keeps you on your toes. KrisM

A couple of noteworthy things came to my attention today. The first relates to what is happening in my neck of the woods. When future generations of Irish were put into economic slavery by our cowardly elected political class to prop up the banksters around Europe the IMF set out requirements with regards to what happens with the country's assets. It now looks that these assets are being no sold off at bargain prices to the actual banksters that the populous propped up in the first place! It has happened in Greece and is now happening in Ireland. Next I imagine will be Portugal, Spain, Italy etc etc. Its mind boggling to say the least. However it looks that many folks here are actually now understanding what is taking place in spite of little or no reporting by the so called nation media and getting quite pissed off. We have local and EU elections coming up on the 23rd May and it will be interesting to see which way the general vote goes. I have a feeling that the government parties that got the country into the mess in the first place and the shower that is currently playing along with the banksters will find out that they are not that popular any longer. I expect to see a huge swing to the 'left'. What happens after that will be interesting! On the international front it looks like Russia is now continuing with the chess game! 'Russia strives to exclude the dollar from energy trading' http://voiceofrussia.com/2014_05_13/Russia-strives-to-exclude-the-dollar-from-energy-trading-5138/ This 'move' is little reported in the western media. From what I understood it would have taken years for Russia to organise a system to lessen the Petro Dollars influence but maybe it about to happen. As long as all sides (USA, EU, BRICKS) keep playing the chess game I am not too concerned as the 'man on the street' gets along which or ever. If it turns into something more than chess, that is a different matter.

There is a saying "be the change you want to see". If we all took the approach of not working for corporations with which we have moral issue, and the greater community took this same attitude toward patronage - we would see change overnight!

WhAts even more interesting is that the use of the coin as a spy tool is based off fact and that there are still coins in circulation today that spies lost.

Some standard options in native SketchUp: moving an edge (p) along its own direction over a certain inputted distance or by grabbing any of its point, even one of its endpoints or midpoint ....towards its intersection with the plane of a face (F) (grabbed point will then be in plane of (F)). moving an edge along any (s) edge's direction over a certain inputted distance or towards the chosen plane perpendicular to (s). The plane is perpendicular to (s) and uses any inference point to determine this plane. extending an edge along its own direction (by grabbing an one of its endpoints) over a certain inputted distance or towards (p)'s intersection with the plane of any face or. (grabbed endpoint will then be in plane of (F))
