Tom, That joke works on so many levels, at first I just burst out laughing, then I got thinking about it... it actually raises some excellent theological, philosophical and moral questions! Now I don't know whether to laugh or to ponder. A bit of both I think.

Just trying it out Hehe... It works! (Especially handy on forums where you need to type the bbCodes in instead of just clicking on them).

Ok, thanks T & Tt. I understand so far. I have tables very similar to the examples, with the exception of the Authors_Plugins table. I wasn't sure if that was a good design choice or not, nor do I have any idea how to get the information out as a single record.

Daniel, You are so right. I would also add that the lunch break should be shared with friends (or friends in the making) and a good laugh should be had by all. Laughing is a fantastic medicine in itself. If anyone cares to take the time to read this well written article they will realise just how important it is to our wellbeing. @tomot said: I didn't link webdialogs to games. It was Scott's introduction of how webdialogs and Ruby will allow us to play games within SU. Its his example not mine. Yes I first found out about them from his video almost a year ago. It was this that prompted me to look into Sketchup to provide 3d displays for my namesets project. @tomot said: However there seems to be a prevailing attitude today among programmers and large companies in the software industry that they think they can make life easier for users if they can link more and more features into their product ... I agree but there needs to be an alternative to counteract that. My idea is to link the names of physical aspects of the real world in hierarchies; each name is linked to a tiny plain text file of name/value pairs defining its own parameters. So most of the 'features' (more like know-how) are provided by those experienced in various activities. The main point is that in this way IT moves into the province of us all, with practitioners structuring their own Information and Technology providing the mechanisms for its exchange. This might also provide a platform for consensus. @tomot said: ... 1.44 diskettes (remember what they were?) Can't resist fond memories! My first PC was a dual drive Apricot, boasting DOS 1.0 and SuperCalc 1.0 which unusual for that time came on 3.5in 250k stiffies (as opposed to 5.25in floppies) Hope you find something here of interest. Hi Guys, Thanks very much for you replies. I'll look into all of these options, especially improving my web page with the necessary features. With the help of modelhead if you do a google search on hand cut dovetails I come in at No 3, and Yahoo at No 1 and the content is still very sparce. Food for thought. thanks again Alan.

Reminds me of the old SmartHome concept that was popular ten years ago. When I built my home I spent big $$$ on a now obsolete state of the art system and now I run everything out of a 6" box in the corner. DE

Well, we thought that we should "split" these posts above off Chris' original topic in the Components, Materials and Styles forum as the cause definitely "deserves" its own topic. Once again; "may the earth lie light upon thee", Chris.

Hi, Jackson: @unknownuser said: The layout of the guywires (horizontally radial) in the downloaded skp model appear to differ from those of the image on your website (lateral). @unknownuser said: See images of radial cables in the skp model below. I don't see how they differ from the images on our website. Except if you mean the image of the sample design which differs only because the wires are attached to the vertical beams (which in turn connect to the spars) instead of connecting directly to the spars. This is an acceptable minor alteration of the design and, while practical in some cases, doesn't change any properties of the platform. Regarding your further engineering inquiry, unfortunately I cannot pass on all questions to our engineering team. I ask you to carry on the discussion in our forums where quite a few users have engineering knowledge. hebrides: @unknownuser said: I want to modify the model (move the cables) to accomodate my structure but need a few hints to hobble up something that is feasible. I would like to know what percentage of the total weight of the truss system is supported by the wires. In general, we don't allow modifications of the base platform unless they are minor cosmetic alterations. How much is minor? Can't tell you exactly unless you tell me exactly what you want to change, but anything that requires calculations like you want to do is definitely too much. Lasse
