Can you imagine working for a company that has a little more than 600 employees and has the following employee statistics:

29 have been accused of spouse abuse

7 have been arrested for fraud

9 have been accused of writing bad cheques

17 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses

3 have done time for assault

71 cannot get a credit card

14 have been arrested on drug-related charges

8 have been arrested for shop-lifting

21 are currently defendants in lawsuits

84 have been arrested for drink driving in the last year

      Which organisation is this?

It's the 635 members of the House of Commons, the same group that cranks out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in the UK in line. 😞

playing the role of the sceptic:
-an accusation doesnt say a lot, a similar thing can be said about being arrested.
-Being a defendant doesnt mean your guilty of anything (yet).
-'Drug related charges' is quite broad ranging.

And are we talking MPs here? or does this include everyone else who helps to run the house of commons?

I don't pay attention to politics anymore and I don't vote.
(and yes I have heard many times you can't change anything unless you vote)

These guys can do what ever they want and it doesn't seem to have an impact on anything. Make laws or break laws, they have no influence and have never changed anything in my life time. The legislature is the longest running soap-box that exists and it is full of real bad actors that pay their way into the spots to carry out self serving programs. Thank God they are all toothless or life would be very miserable.

ps:just adding a little heat to the thread! 😆

take a look at what's happening in Italy. You'll think twice about your situation in the UK, I assure you 😉

Well, what should one, whose prime minister is only not in prison because his case has become forfeited, say? 😒

You would be amazed at how many people in the US have been charged with one thing or another. But as Remus said...

you should send this one to myth busters, i've seen it before circulating inboxes. that may be the only "source" of these claims 😒

NOT that i don't think government is corrupt or anything. i would just like to see this in a newspaper before making up my mind.

Last year I wrote a little piece about home design & consumer electronics (home theater systems, local networks, etc.) for the local newspaper. You would be amazed at how much they altered my text. The end result result ends up saying things I never intended. I can post the full before/after text if you like. When I told this incident to a lady I know, she told me a similar experience. She was interviewed once by that same newspaper when she became beauty queen of her high school, and they totally invented parts of the written interview. She said she liked foreign music (in English), they said she liked tropical music.

Since then, I've become much more critical of newspapers in general and take everything they say with a truckload of salt. Every time the news is about something I know well, I notice how much they deviate from the truth, or show plain ignorance.

i think something much scarier is that you don't have to take an IQ test to run the country! (BUSH) I'd like to see stats on how many politicians have a sub 80 IQ 👊
