Brodie, as others pointed out it's important to establish the rules beforehand, especially who pays you. It's not unusual for an architect to pay consultants after they've billed the client for the services, but if there is a billing dispute between the client and the architect, you don't want to be left out in the rain. If the architect hired you, then he should agree to reimbursing you within a set time.

Sorry to rain on the parade, but Rebus has been around for ages, they don't support any SU render plugins and besides, their initial file setup costs are too high to be useful for anything other than rendering commercial animations. Full list of software they support: **Autodesk 3ds Max Vray - Mental Ray - finalRender - Maxwell Render - Vue xStream - Brazil r/s - scanline - Maxon Cinema 4D Vray - Advanced Render - finalRender - Maxwell Render - Vue xStream - Standard Render - Autodesk Maya Mental Ray - finalRender - Maxwell Render - Vue xStream - Software Render - Softimage XSI Mental Ray - Vue xStream - Maxwell Render - Luxology modo Standard Render - Newtek Lightwave 3D Maxwell Render - Vue xStream - Standard Render - Blender 3D Standard Render - YafRay - Standalone Software Mental Ray - Maxwell Render - Vue Infinite -**

And of course, representatives of any other trade like to see themselves in a similar light. Only difference may be that they make smaller things which not necessarily obtrude in others sights unavoidably.

I don't see anything out of the ordinary in that GE image. And, what makes you think that Beale AFB is the home of "Aurora"? A comment like this is a little bit off the wall.

There are musicians who are beginning to work in this method. They tell people they are ready to make an album, then get finincial backing beforehand from fans, then make the album and give it away for free, or mostly free, or a free version and a pay version with extra insights to the process, etc. I like the idea Jim. I don't know where you would go to start something like that. It would be cool if it worked, Chris

Ah, thank you mitcorb, and toxicvoxel. Yes, that's exactly what I was looking for! So basically its an easier way to change something once you've drawn it...its easy to see why they brag about that.

Well the thing was, they weren't working in the sketchup explorer or your explorer until I updated sketchup.

I have a wireless keyboard/mouse nearby - Think it might be RF, not 100% sure about the frequency. But adjusting the antenna and changing the channel seemed to have worked so far. (There was at least 3-4 on the same channel.)

As I understand it they are themselves planted in the ground, so unless they die of disease they'll never rot. Although simple, it is a very intriguing idea- I wonder what it's limitations would be? Would it be possible for example to use such living structures as the primary structure for genuinely habitable buildings, suspending tensile mebranes beneath them or other forms of climate control barriers?

I've just read the "release blog post" (or what) about it. http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2009/08/help-test-some-next-generation.html Will see. A Google Webmaster help Guide commented the speed however; @unknownuser said: I wouldn't look at the speed. Servers are always a bit faster when hardly anyone is using them

The Library of Congress' Historic American Buildings Survey on-line records: http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/collections/habs_haer/ There's a mix of computer and hand drawn documents, as well as photographs. For instance, if you do a search on Greene & Greene, the first result (Gamble House) has hand drawn pland and elevations fully dimensioned and annotated.

Ah yes, John Hughes. The eighties was made richer because of him. I remember Breakfast club, what a great movie for such a small budget, definitely an eighties culture movie that had a short but very potent shelf life. Then there is National Lampoons Vacation, one of the funniest movies than and today. Ferris Beuhler's day off was fantastic (great choice in Yello's "Oh Yeah" soundtrack) Then there was 'Home Alone' another great family movie. Goodbye John and thanks for the great entertainment.
