My two cents would be to go whatever RW institution is close and inspriring to you, there round out your education with whatever liberal arts degree (major and minor) trips your trigger...literature, art history, etc. My biggest regret about my architecture college experience is not taking a broader range of courses, as my interests are now often spread thinner than my base...costing me precious hours now that often I wasted then.

solo, I found this link on the web. Compares the "Intel Core 2 duo e7300" with the " AMD Phenom x3 8600". They also threw other CPU's (admittedly, all Intel CPU's) into the mix for a better comparison.

The Best Brownies Ever (no fooling) 4 large eggs 1 cup sugar 1 cup brown sugar 1-1/4 cups unsweetened cocoa powder 1/2 cup all purpose flour 1/4 teaspoon table salt 8 ounces melted unsweetened butter (2 whole sticks) 2 teaspoons vanilla extract Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F. Line an 8-inch square pan with non-stick aluminum foil – dull side up to make a “sling” for removing brownies when done. In a mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, beat the eggs at medium speed until fluffy and light yellow. Add both sugars. Add remaining dry ingredients, and mix to combine. Add vanilla then the melted butter (slowly) and mix until incorporated. Pour the (very thick and sticky) batter into a lined 8-inch square pan and bake for 45 – 50 minutes. Check for doneness with the tried-and-true toothpick method: a toothpick inserted into the center of the pan should come out clean. When it's done, remove to a rack to cool. After about 5 minutes, lift the brownies out the pan by the aluminum foil sling and leave on the cooling rack. Resist the temptation to cut into it until it's mostly cool. Yield: 16 brownies

Thanks, viewers and commenters. Yes, type needs some work. I figured at some point, someone would let me "borrow" a logo, and i could make some adjustments with a good version in place. I'd hate to have to start cutting up my SU T-shirts.

@unknownuser said: Although its really pointless guessing im not sure Autodesk would have moved SU in such a bad way. They took on Revit and it looks to be in a pretty strong position now! Maybe they would have taken on SU and progressed it further and at the same time taken some of its ease of use and bolted that onto AutoCad. Thats how I feel when I look at AutoCAD Architecture (formely ADT) It is this cumbersome Autocad product that is very powerful, but not user friendly at all. It is a sort of hybrid of ACAD and Revit. What im getting at, we all seem to slag off Autodesk, but that does not mean they would have stood still or ruined SU. I agree completely. While I do feel that AutoDesk charges too much for it's software I see others do it as well. I do think that AutoDesk would have developed SU more to what "we" would like to see instead of simply a tool to populate Google Earth. I for one dreaded the day Google bought @Last.

Hi folks. I am on the obsessive side since I am always telling myself that sometime I might want to add to an existing model and I would prefer to be assured that everything is nice and precise. Otherwise, I would take the risk of drawing something on an inaccurate position and then propagate the error and have to camouflage even more bad geometries. Just ideas.

Funny you should bring this up on TAX DAY (for those of us in the (US of A). Benjamin Franklin said, "The only things certain in life are death and taxes." I'm not so sure about that. I think it's pretty certain that you'll get a chuckle out of one or two of the following quotations about Death and Taxes: "The hardest thing in the world to understand is the income tax." -- attributed to Albert Einstein "If Patrick Henry thought that taxation without representation was bad, he should see how bad it is with representation." -- Farmer's Almanac "The avoidance of taxes is the only intellectual pursuit that carries any reward." -- John Maynard Keynes "Death and taxes may be certain, but we don't have to die every year." -- Unknown "If you die in an elevator, be sure to push the UP button." -- Sam Levenson "Optimist: Someone who sets aside two hours to do his income tax return." -- Unknown "I wouldn't mind paying taxes -- if I knew they were going to a friendly country." -- Dick Gregory "Income tax returns are the most imaginative fiction being written today." -- Herman Wouk "Tax reform means, 'Don't tax you, don't tax me. Tax that fellow behind the tree.'" -- Russell Long "The way taxes are, you might as well marry for love." -- Joe E. Lewis "I don't mind dying, the trouble is you feel so bloody stiff the next day." -- George Axlerod "It used to be that death and taxes alone were inevitable. Now there's shipping and handling." -- Bert Murray "Be happy while you're living, for you're a long time dead." -- Scottish Proverb "I never see the prettiest thing - A cherry bough gone white with Spring - But what I think, 'How gay 'twould be To hang me from a flowering tree.'" -- Dorothy Parker "Indoors or out, no one relaxes In March, that month of wind and taxes, The wind will presently disappear, The taxes last us all year." -- Ogden Nash "The income tax has made more liars out of the American people than golf has." -- Will Rogers "The report of my death was an exaggeration." -- Mark Twain (after reading his own obituary) "The taxpayer -- that's someone who works for the federal government but doesn't have to take the civil service examination." -- Ronald Reagan

my advice for ganeral use of mouse and key board is: keep one hand on the mouse to use for orbiting and tool use, and the other hand on the key board for short cuts and modifyer keys (ie ctrl, alt, shift, ect). i personaly think that having to take your hand off the mouse to press a bunch of keys is slower than just pressing the button on the screen. i dont think the same for often-used tools like the orbit tool. thanks for the idea though! my class today went very soothly! we learned how to make a sphere, advanced select tool uses, and the wonders that are groups and components. some other mantra i have for my students is this: always keep a high vantage point. you shouldnt even be able to see the "sky". this makes modeling much easier. you guys like it?

Rhubarb is a superior fruit in any baked dish -- and should never be sullied by strawberry in a pie.
