This is true (and of course, in your case it is even more important). But if the sender doesn't receive the copy of the email, he can suspect that something has gone wrong anyway. You can even ad this to the message it displays after sending the email. I send you a PM with the attachment.

I was referring more to peoples tendency to go '2 million, i could do a lot of good with that.' rather than coming up with a good idea first.

this kind of coincidence is very commom in the creative world. you were certainly thinking along the same lines without being aware of each other. a quick search shows that arad's chair has been around since at least 2005 ("Voido was presented at the 2005 Furniture Fair in a “mould testing” phase under which it suffered greatly").

I think a free & pro Google OS is around the corner, a simpler, faster and capable of running any program of every other OS(maybe just a dream). If Microsoft doesn't change its policies soon it will get wacked in the head .....not that it hasn't already been wacked a few times, but this time a big contusion may appear.

Patent drawings are not for the faint of heart. I did some a while back (in my cad days) and lost my a$$ on the job. They are very specific on the style, paper, text (font), etc. The drawings actually took me far longer than expected (came back 8-10 times and not due to anything other than not "looking" they way they wanted them). They may not even tell you what needs to be corrected (they say you need to know). I learned that I will not be doing patent drawings again anytime soon. A few pieces of advice...do you homework. Get ahold of the patent office you will be submitting to and see if they have a book of standards they want you to follow. Bid the job about twice as much as you think (you will be revising it many times for the smallest of corrections). Good luck. Scott

One can excuse ignorance or naivety. What one cannot excuse is the sheer arrogance it takes to foist that ignorance on a superpower and thereby the rest of the world. I think Stinkie has a point. If this tragi-comic double act were to get into power, the rest of the developed world would have to seriously reappraise the status of the US and their dealings with it. It would be as if some gauche teen had just walked onto the international stage.

@solo said: Lets take my furniture 'designs' I did recently, they were not done with an intention to be manufactured but rather to explore the new tools in SU, I did not have any parameters or rules to conform to and thus I was not restricted. So besides the artistic intention behind them they are useless? Could they not serve as inspiration for a workable product? In my opinion design should be with the aim of bringing something in to the world. Anything less than that is coming up with ideas, they are nothing more than that unless they are then made in to something real. Your chairs are not useless because of this, though. As you said they could serve as the inspiration for a great piece of furniture, but then anything can be serve as inspiration, there is a lot between being inspired and then making a real product. @unknownuser said: is artistic design not the foundation of great architecture? I dont know enough about architecture to comment, but an often lauded phrase in the industrial design world comes to mind "form follows function."

Yes - give my congrats to Brittany for kick'n ass! Also please advise her that I believe she is really your younger sister. You two have a strong family resemblance. Even if you weren't aware of it, you must actually share at least one parent. That time dear ol' dad said he was going away on business -- well I now know what funny business he was up to! This is a common question on the forum. The stock answer tends to be something like; It is impossible to answer as pricing depends very much on the demand for your skills and the value of the dollar/pound/euro and other economic factors in the area that you are working. My opinion is that the only common denominator is the fact that you have to make enough money to live on. If a client is offering you a one-off job, the rate for that should be at a premium, as opposed to a client that has an ongoing stream of work that will keep you busy for some time.

yes. Those old versions, 2 and 3, are to be kept as remembrances of how SketchUp grew. @unknownuser said: Most confindent for me is number 4 for there there Is the ruby. The path gone from there on has lead us to our present confused situation. 5 and 6 lack of interest and are, much more the version 6, full of distractions. (my opinion)
