Well, they are talking about archaeological reconstructions here. A reconstructionof a ruinous building however is not only about reconstructing what you have now but what you could have hundreds or thousands of years ago - and you cannot photograph that. I could however find an exciting idea here to create bump (and/or) displacement maps for renderings. This is all - after all - about the surfaces, not the buildings themselves.

@chris fullmer said: Thats very encouraging Tinane. I can get in at the $35 student price, so I think I might join and see how it goes. I'm no architectural renderer at this point in my life, but it is something I aspire to be able to do. You're work has always been great inspiration too Tinane. My parents live in Ivins Utah which is right near Kayenta where I saw did some rendereings. My parents are very good friends with the Ence's so I was happy to sort of know the person who had done such nice renderings for them and that region. Very nice indeed! Chris Fullmer Chris, sorry I missed this. Thank you for the compliments! They are very much appreciated. I hope you join and I will look for your work at the next AIP!!!

I thought it was a bit odd, but they did the same thing the first time they published me last year, with that Pavilion for Oblivion thing. I received the impression that the authors of other projects were actually interviewed in some cases. But I'm not complaining...just remarking on the "surprise." After all, if the webcounter can be trusted on Friday approximately 50,000 AIA members at least opened an issue graphically headlined by one of my projects. I wasn't looking for any publicity when I started working on this "fantasy," but I'm happy enough for the recognition.

The most sense I've seen written about education either side of the Atlantic in a very long time. UK Governments of either persuasion have bent over backwards to avoid addressing the real problems (if they ever realised what they were in the first place) for the last 30+ years. In the '70's they said that the problem was with the bottom 25%...that the bright kids were as good as any in the world. So do they deal with the bottom 25%? No they turn the entire education survice upside down and have continued to do so on a regular basis ever since. They are about to do so yet again, with yet another change in the exam system....as if testing kids every 5 minutes actually teaches them anything...except how to pass exams.

It's aweosme, but hardly original..i saw on Discovery a few years ago something very similar but that would be built in Japan. Anyhow i hope they're practical it would make a good solution for overcrowding by crowding peoople ecologically

OMG! Bruce you accidentally captured an image of 'Hokkee' (the Canadian sibling of Nessie) on film. [image: wabagooncy1.jpg] Awesome images, I downloaded them to my background image library for a future rendering.

http://www.informationweek.com/news/services/hosted_apps/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=210200469 Seems everyone wants to use it! They would probably charge a ridiculous price for this if they sold it as a stand alone package...
