@prisoner said: To me, calling those models "bad" seems to be a clever way of fishing for compliments Sorry if here is a mistake with the title of the thread... I dont go searching compliments but critics @prisoner said: I like the arc and the details. Thanks

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I wasn't really going for a "scene" at this time. I'll repost this when I have completed the rest of the items. Best regards, Jack

@richard said: Hey stinkie Nice work again mate! I wonder though if for some of your renders that SU fog and PS with lighting effects could produce similar albeit not as good but in minutes! Not sure you have seen my thread on SU rendering? I have seen it, Richard, and I quite liked the results you achieved. Cannot remember the thread's title, though. I'll have poke around. EDIT: for those interested, Richard's thread is here: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=16807 All together now: thanks, Dick!! (Sorry. Really hard to resist. )

I like the way the palm trees are visible but the transparency allows them to give a sense of scale without distracting from the architecture.

Hi and thanks...yes, this thread of liam's ( http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=18866&p=167921&hilit=liam#p154487 ) illuminated the full possiblities of using a line only SU export to quickly mask areas of an image to work on separately. Once I resigned myself to the tedium of using several mutliply layers for each area (50-60 total for this simple image), I found the basic concept worked wonderfully...of course, I have a long, long road ahead learning color and stroke, etc. The shadow trick is also huge: using several progressively blurred layers to soften the edges. With more attention to detail and some work at edges that should remain sharp, I think there are big possibilities. I started off this computer journey with Windows products, then Corel draw and paint, so the Apple Adobe interface never seemed comfortable to me. When Corel bought paintshop pro I got it cheap and never looked back. It seems to do most of what I hear Photoshop can do (filters, etc), probably some of it not as well (brushes, etc)...but then again, I've only learned what I need to know at the time I needed it: so probably PSP is much better than I know. I haven't figured out if I'm at a good or bad place right now. I want to add a couple of techniques to my kit: the vray clay render, the piranesi marker style, the vue landscaping possibilities...but I don't want (can't really afford) to buy any (let alone several) expensive programs right now. So I'm giving PSP a go to emulate these three styles...couldn't hurt to learn more of PSP even if I can't get the substitute techs good enough???

Hi Puma, I'd say that the "architectural massing" is already fine (although there must be some structures under the seats to support those slanting areas). Now you'd definitely need to add some (even) better textures (from a distance, this current texture is tiling badly as well as too "uniform" for the building) some modelling/texturing details (like around the arches - they obviously need to be supported somehow) if you make sect5ions, yes, definitely use TIG's SectionCutFace plugin so that the massing doesn't look "hollow" Otherwise I love the ones when you put it into the environment - that's very "professional" looking (although I don't really like this term itself). Please, carry on developing the project.
