@olishea said: but what a car!! I mean, they just don't make things that scream passion any more. Just epic. I love how porsche maintain their design approach through each iteration of the 911, keeping its sexy curves, but most other manufacturers are going very bland and predictable IMO. Just generic crap coming off a production line. I never used to understand the appeal of classic american cars but now I love them....real presence and impact. Pilou is right about moi3d....fantastic program. I couldn't agree more. In their few pitiful attempts to make a new car look "retro" they have failed miserably (like the T-Bird, the Prowler, the PT Cruiser). One of the few exceptions is the Mustang. I think they did a wonderful job with that one, captured the essence of the original Stang perfectly. Unfortunately I read somewhere where they're gonna give it a complete makeover. With very few exceptions I can't really tell the difference between cars nowadays, they all look like they came from the same cookie cutter, no real character. Of course you have to keep in mind that I'm an old fart that grew up around those classics, and most kids today don't know anything else. I've really gotta get to work on my time machine. Back to the future!

Dude, try SU options editor then go Irradiance map change HSph. Subdivs. default is 50 make it 100 or higher. the higher HSph. Subdivs. the longer the rendering time.

Pretty cool! Reminds me of a Ray or an Octopus lifting itself off the sandy bottom of the ocean.

Thanks John. 3 diffuse layers. Home made grey brick grid over a noise layer with a dirt map on top. It took a bit of trial and error with the transparencies of the dirt and brick layers to get the appearance I was looking for.

@charevir56 said: I've bookmarked this topic too http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=49271 Ah. That's it. Thanks. But I now remember there wasn't much info. The link to kalid.net leads only the architect company with no mention of the script and it's also not clear if this is for SketchUp or 3DMax.

Yes i just set the type to liquid, set the transparency right down to 8% and the colour closer to grey than blue. Finally just pushed the bump up.

Looks kool... Design wise I would make those round windows tilt in at the bottom and out at the top... Don't want any Eric Claptonesk accidents.
