@donnewtype said: Both images make me want to live in the house, but the second one seems more natural, late afternoon, early evening during the summer or maybe early September. Brilliant work though. Thank you, I find it difficult to choose at the end, "forrest for the trees" syndrome. will try to use Criterion Architecture's suggestion about a more over exposed sky when I get a chance to see what that does for it

Yes it's all in Maxwell. I chose the aperture, iso, speed & focal length. I also used an aperture and obstacle map for the lens effects.

Having fun modeling these things from the late 1800s. Here’s a “rope pulley” which is a little over 5 feet in diameter. These were used with cotton rope to drive mills for spinning or fabric production. This one would have had four ropes each of which was spliced end to end to make continuous loops. Very quiet operation. [image: N5kM_Wheel.png] Here are a couple of similar wheels with a single cable wrapped around multiple times and spliced end to end to make one continuous loop. To get the cable from one side of the the large wheel to the opposite side of the smaller wheel, the cable runs up over the upper wheels which are set at angles to provide a good lead. Nice feeling and modeling of the railing! The wood may be helped by rotating the texture on the uprights 90 degrees so the grain goes parallel to long direction of the piece.

Wow. If you didn't tell anyone it was a computer generated rendering, it would be mistaken for a photograph.

Thanks Simon, I prefer yours, there is a problem with the model somewhere. I purge the model but it does not stop so I will have to start again. That's life.

HornOxx , Bryan , thanks much. Got to admit Solo's house was a lot more suited for a hobbit. Think mine is a little more appropriate for a troll.
