Just to clarify Gaieus' suggestion of using Flip to get a clockwise spiral. Flip is not the same as Rotate. Flip produces a mirror image (not a duplicate)...so left becomes right and right becomes left. That will change the direction of rotation.

@gidon yuval said: Hi Bren and welcome to the forum. One thig that may help you in getting the hang of using SU is to think in terms of extrusion. I'm sure you are familiar with the Playdough machines where the child simply chooses the nozzle shape and forces the Playdough through it. [attachment=0:3sjfduc3]<!-- ia0 -->180px-Playdoh.jpg<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:3sjfduc3] Well, modeling with SU is quite similar. Always think in terms of the base shape or the profile of what you want to model. Once you have the shape and you know in which you want it to go then you've done 50% of the work. Yes, indeed. Thanks, Gidon. Hadn't read your reply yet, as I've been quite busy, but now that I read this it is immediately reminding me of the Follow Me tool. I managed to create a donut with it which I afterwards gave some smooth bumps and dents of different sizes. Furthermore, made some terrain, a little cabin of stone, a bucket, etc. I think it's going quite well and fast too

Yes but wow its a lot of work to make each dimension line into a block! I suppose for the break lines I was dreaming of a tool that will actually cut the model where ever u add the breakline. Do you use SU for details etc?

There do seem to be some technical differences between 2D and 3D templates, beyond simply the starting angle of view...but I can't elaborate. For now, just go with whatever floats your boat. Gai is right, in early versions all the default templates, whether Imperial, metric or metric inches etc. all opened in plan view with no ground, sky or Flat Bryce. The Isometric/Perspective view came along later; that is, after all, how most other modellers open by default...at least they do when not in quad view.

This can interest you : Programms for Solver Puzzles For the original "Soma" you must load "Cubix 3D" who is in the same link The best link about Soma The creator of Soma Piet Hein : His watchword : Co existence or no existence and this interesting one I don't give you the solution because it's one of the more "simple" crazzy headache I had never seen Even you find a 3D solution(many exist), that don't say that you can assembly it in reality! Only one works! PS It is also not so easy to unbuild it the Skp File [image: file.php?id=10383&mode=view] [image: file.php?id=10385&mode=view]

Either this (View menu) or that (Toolbar - as Alan says) way. If you plan to use section planes/cuts a lot however, activate the toolbar from View > Toolbars so that you don't need to open the menu all the time.

Hi Daniel, Welcome the the forum. Coen has been telling me great things about you and Jim Leggitt and I look forward to have you guys as part of the community. I have a confession! I missed your presentation at 3D BC, I was probably at the 'leper colony' smoking cigarettes and chatting to other full-time residents and occasional visitors I look forward to seeing the presentation on You Tube, so would appreciate the heads up when available Mike

What remus said. I had a similar problem with the MS Intellimouse. After I uninstalled the mouse software and allowed XP to run my mouse all was well.
