I just realized that I have held one in my hand almost daily for about 21 years... Serious use of Autocad needed a tablet until the Windows version became usable in the mid-90s. Anssi

Pete, A cartridge lasts for the equivalent of 10 to 15 cigs. Its hard to put an exact figure on it because the way the e-cig is used. In the case of the MyVic they include 3 cartridges and extra packs of 5 cost $7. However it is possible to refill the cartridges using a liquid / eye drop thing. The whole deal does work out a lot cheaper for me with 20 cigs costing @8.45. So you will have to work this out for yourself. The kit cost around $57. Its worth a try even if it cost consumption of normal cigs! Mike

First thing to bear in mind is that you dont generally get combo laserjet printers. Secondly, the 'cartridges' for colour laser jet printers are very expensive, more so than for inkjet printers. Going on what you want, id say get a cheap black and white laser for printing all the stuff where quality isnt an issue, then buy something like this: http://tinyurl.com/5unw3a for when you want high quality. You shouldnt get through the cartridges too fast with this combo, either.

@unknownuser said: I just bought the Logitech S530 wireless keyboard / mouse combo for Mac. I have not tried it yet, will install on Monday; online reviews seem to be more than fair performance. Well, after using this for more than a month now I must say that I'm more than satisfied with the performance!

The funny thing is, when the movie was in the creative process S. Spielberg held a retreat to ask companies like lexus coke gap etc where they saw there companies realistically going in the next 50 years; from that info they created the world of Minority Report, so now I guess we all should get ready for eye-dentification. btw (after the HP comerrcials I really could not wait to see this type of tech in real life) I guess it will be affordable enough in 5 to 8 years.

Thanks for the responses guys. I live in Arkansas. I am choosing Dell just for the simple fact I can finance it through them and pay on it monthly. I'm sure other manufactures do this but I am just not for sure. Thanks

There is also a K-Lite Codec Pack, contains a lot of codecs and comes in different versions from light to megapack. The only thing is I understand using it if you need to decode video, but if you only interested in playback, then installing 200 codecs is not a very healthy solution I used to do it until I discovered such players as GOM and VLC. (There are a couple more of similar players if anyone interested.) Both come with a build in codecs for all major movies, both work with DVD. Clean install and uninstall. GOM can also redirect you to a needed codec in case you did come across of something unusual. Also updating is easier, when you deal with codec sometimes thay start leaving traces on a pc, and conflicts between each other. Well, just thought I will share

What you are encountering here is more a limitation of SU than your computer. To put it bluntly, SU doesnt like even remotely high polycounts. The best workaround found so far is to put as much of your model as you can on separate layers. In your case this would mean putting all the detailed stuff (houses etc.) on a new layer. You can then turn this layer off until you need to do the final exports/presentation. Oh, and just for the record, file size doesnt really play a huge part in how fast models are in SU.

Hi Guys, I got some further feedback from Conor the guy that invented the 3D Printer. This is what he wrote, I have attached an information sheet about the Mcor Matrix for your files. We have just launched the product in the UK and it is now available for sale in UK and Ireland. The cost of the machine is €24,950 and its running costs are up to 50 times less expensive than our competitors. The main point to get across is that at this differential, our total cost of ownership is very low depending on the throughput. It is estimated that the average annual throughput on a 3D printer in a commercial setting to be approx 80 litres. At that rate you will get a return on investment in 5 weeks, and even free (i.e. if our competitors gave you their machine for free) you would have a roi in 36 weeks. The other main selling point about the machine is that the raw material, paper and pva adhesive, make it a very eco-friendly solution, with the waste material suitable for regular paper recycling. I am attaching the PDF on the 3D Printer also. It is a bit more expensive that originally mentioned in the various articles but the low running costs and short pay-back period makes it attractive. MAD IDEA! I wonder if SketchUcation offered a 3D Printing service would it be supported? Mike

Besides advantages (using 3dconnexion space navigator) that were already explained above by others, I want to add other two: Meanwhile building or editing (w/ the mouse), I navigate (w/ space navigator), especialy in large models: simultaneous actions. ‘Space navigator’ is much more useful than the mouse for screen capturing (using a program such as Camtasia Studio) a walk-thruogh or fly-by animation. Some observations - the screen is small, but you read that from the specifications but while small it is very clear and bright if you load up all the SU toolbars you loose out on your drawing area my biggest models are 3 & 5 Mb, moving and zooming is a bit stuttery but simpler models are smoother 5)I wouldn't use it if I had a desktop to hand, but if I had to travel and use it without large models and do some simple sketching I would. You could always plug it into a larger screen (although I haven't tried this) or even use one of these! http://www.expansys.com/zoompic.aspx?type=item&i=173834 The keys are about 15mm square. I've small fingers so I'm OK with the keyboard, but I wouldn't want them any smaller. Anyway, so far I'm happy with it and I've got it to boot into Linux (Ubuntu) on a USB memory stick although I'm not sure what to use Linux for. It's certainly easier to carry than the old IBM ThinkPad!

How strange, that top one doesn't work with me. When inside the .kmz all I see is a klm file. But thanks a lot for the second one, works great, thankyou very much.
