Quite a pity their patent ran out in 1987, i feel as if they should be compensated more for their invention really, especially considering it's ubiquity.

I just realized that I have held one in my hand almost daily for about 21 years...
Serious use of Autocad needed a tablet until the Windows version became usable in the mid-90s.
