Vista AVI wont work? NOT ANY MORE!

I had this problem for a long time, windows just didnt like .avi. Even thought it is a common video format, it recognised it only as audio. I searched Google and here is the first free fix I found.
Its a codec pack avalible for free, it contains nearly 200 codecs and tonns of apps allowing Windows to play .avi and a whole lot more. There is also the problem with playing DVD's. I havnt tested it but as far as I know you can now play DVD's on any Vista version in Media Player. It doesnt stop there, it contains more Audio Drivers and Directshow Filters.
Check it out!

I hope it helps make Vista that little less F__k'n annoying!

There is also a K-Lite Codec Pack, contains a lot of codecs and comes in different versions from light to megapack.
The only thing is I understand using it if you need to decode video, but if you only interested in playback, then installing 200 codecs is not a very healthy solution I used to do it until I discovered such players as GOM and VLC. (There are a couple more of similar players if anyone interested.) Both come with a build in codecs for all major movies, both work with DVD. Clean install and uninstall. GOM can also redirect you to a needed codec in case you did come across of something unusual.
Also updating is easier, when you deal with codec sometimes thay start leaving traces on a pc, and conflicts between each other.
Well, just thought I will share
