Thanks iichiversii Useful list to check out. I know the divisions between smart mobiles and tablets are bluring but your list seems to be more phone orientated. I'm hoping more tablet based apps becomes available to compete directly with whats available for the ipad. Having purchased a nexus 7 this summer, which is a brilliant piece of hardware, I note it has great entertainment / communication apps, but seems thin on the ground when looking for more conventional office / work stuff. Microsoft may release an android office app later next year but obviously they are in no rush as it will compete with their new surface apps. Their may be many thousands of apps available on the play store but sifting through them for an approriate gem is a real hit and miss affair. I'm surprised google hasn't done more in categorising apps for diferent contexts, whether it be for size of device or specific use.

600W is more than enough for this setup - i think it will be around ~400W under load. I suggested a ~700W PSU because the efficiency typically is the best around 50-60% load, and because it should have at least 30A on the 12v rail for the geforce and for overclocking. But this should be only a problem if the PSU has two or more separated 12v rails. I don't know how this one is build, but newer PSUs have combined 12v power rails with 70-80A combined. So they are more flexible. The other point with a server could be that maybe the fan is quite noisy because it is only optimized for power and not noise. But you'll see (hear). ASRock should be fine, i'm running my farm on ASRocks (i7 970 and 2600K/2700K) - i don't know the Extreme 4. You should read some reviews for more info. I'm no expert in GPU rendering, i'm only using CPU. But i think, mixing nvidia and amd would be no good idea, even if it seems to work. But maybe i'm wrong.

It works really good. I was beta tester from the first Mac beta. I like that it looks absolutely the same as the Windows version. Well done Twi team.

@mike lucey said: Andrew, the old connector is a 'clip-in' whereas the new one looks to be some sort of a magnet system! As regards me not going for an upgrade. Well I have quite a few devices that 'fit' the iPhone4 and 4S body shape. They will not fit the new iPhone5 case as its longer and slimmer. Also I don't see much in the iPhone5 that is not in the iPhone4S. I don't think 4G will be available anytime soon here and I can live without it for a while longer I may change when I get a free upgrade AND am able to get new cases to fit my stuff ...... we will see. Over the past couple of years I have been getting into the 'if its not broken don't upgrade' mode! This applies to a lot of things and to be honest, once I get over the initial urge to change for the latest and greatest, I'm fine with what I have Same goes for my 17" MBP, I intend to knock at least another 12 months out of it! And by this time most of the Mac Apps I use should be retina compatible, I hope Bet you are sorry you asked now mmmmm......

@gaieus said: "Normally" you should neither have to uninstall any older version (even within the same main version where it will be overwritten) nor uninstall/copy/secure any additional things (components, materials, styles, plugins) that you have added to the default install. I do not know why that prompt pops up - unless you actually have the latest version and the system identifies it as a "repair" or something. Certainly, to be really safe, you can always make those back-ups. Yes I found this strange also that I had to uninstall the older version as I didn't need to do so before but after I uninstalled and reinstalled all my plugins and so on we're automaticly applied into the new version, cheers for the help

Yeah I installed MS .NET framework, seems as thu the download is broken, once I download it it causes an error, I'll have a look at it again tonight and see if I can fix it

Normally i would use autodesks FBX converter to format my dae,s to FBX but I never had to do anything but click on the convert icon, never anything else, so this term triangulate is something I did not come by before

Exporting sketchup to the dwg format and bringing into autocadws seems to be the only way (I've found) of viewing our models on an android tablet/mobile at the moment. (Not into ipad thing) It works reasonably well but is reliant on your model being up on autodesks server. Is google going to produce a viewer or have they lost interest and left this for Trimble to pick up?
