Define the value of an attribute from another attribute
Hi.
Is there any way for an attribute to change the value of another attribute?
for exampleLenX = DC2!LenX=5
when LenX is a DC1 attribute.I know I can set LenX (from DC2) iqual to DC1!LenX, but that is what I'm trying to avoid because it already has some values.

Components window
hi
I've been working with sk6 and now 7. I have a questions about how components window works:how to avoid the conection with 3D warehouse?. I work with my own components and I have a small library. In sk6 it was very easy to get an specific component, now there is a mixing info very confusing. if I need a model from 3d warehouse i launch the browser, download anything and edit but not inside my model, most of the models from warehouse needs to be purged (layers, materials, other groups/components) or just make some changes before using it but not inside the project. so how to stay away from warehouse inside sketchup.
there is no back and forward buttons in this window and I want to know how to "surf" even inside warehouse, I've been trying in this new version but don't get it. -
RE: Working with very large CAD files
another thing that I always do is simplify blocks, a tree for example full of lines and other entities becomes into a simple X, blocks with unnecessary entities I'm sure you'll find. this will help you a bit more, specially with landscape models.

ISO come in scaled differently because the camera is not looking straight at any axis, but looking instead equally skewed at all 3 axis. so they come in uniformly scaled down by +/- .86.
ISO means equal, then all parallel lines to any axis must be drawing with real dimension and should not be scaled . the lines that aren't parallel to any axis hasn't a real dimension. In this way an ellipse (an especial ellipse called ISOCIRCLE) is graphically equal (yes it is) to a cicle see image.
i'm a technical drawing teacher and i've been had this problem since skecth 4, i think is a bug inside exporter. isn't an issue of units, believe me i've tried everything

RE: Lost in Layerville !!
you need putonlayer.rb and layerchange.rb plugins.
groups+components+putonlayer+layerchange = perfect control layers. -

4 V-Ray for Sketchup. OMG this first release is full of bugs, is not a complete engine render and the trial version expires in 30 days without any good render (for beginners like me).
5 Artlantis Render. FOUR years, 2 licenses, many disappointments. although sometimes resolve the problem (in it's way) it's too far from "professional".

RE: Image Quality .
for jaggy lines there's a very useful trick: just export from sketchup 2 - 4 times bigger the view size in pixels then (with you favorite software for images) resize the same times smaller.

More styles?
the next images are generated from another cad software, the textures in brick wall and roof are jpg, i was wondering if sketchup can "render" shadows and textures (JPGs) with the style.
