I know that you can get photorealism through Kerkeathea, etc.
I'm more interested in getting refinements to the SU output- removal of the jaggy lines, maybe to produce images more akin to those from VectorWorks ?
Or to grade shadows, all within the context of a line drawing style ?

Hi Dahon and welcome.
If you are not for photorealistic rendering, please, visit our "tutorial" section about post processing here: http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewforum.php?f=38
Also there are a couple of topics in the renders gallery (as well as the su gallery) where you can find ideas about watercolor techniques and such.

Yes, that's the way to do it.
For instance, if I post an image here it might only be 600 pixels wide, but I habitually export from SU at 3000 pixels wide, then resample in Photoshop.
If you export at more than screen resolution make sure you turn off the Anti-Aliasing. You don't need it if you are intending to resample...and with it still switched on, you'll be waiting forever for the render. -
Thanks guys. Bit obvious really, however, I'll have more coming.
Is anybody using IRender ? It seems very easy to get going, but I'm not sure why the forum seems quiet enough about it ? Is KT the best way to go altogether ?

Don't even try to get into any comparison of render apps! Whole wars are going on every time someone comes up with either a statement or a question.
Use whatever fits best to your workflow, knowledge and pocket.

I've been toying around in amazement at KT, and really like it. But gosh there's an amount to learn. And the forum is really informative.
IRender though is quiet.
So not going into comparisons, if I'm going to get knowledge of IRender, from architectural visualisers rather than the writers, is there anywhere to go ?
So not a comparison, please... just a bit of info !!!

I know nothing of iRender but there is a subforum of RenderPlus Systems here where you can ask anything and Al Hart of the company will most probably be more than happy to answer.
