Hello Dale, I was following your new house thread and agree the Stone Mason was worth his weight in gold, this is what I'm saying about the "old school". When he's gone so have his skills and experience built over many years. Over here it seems now you can pick a paint brush up and your a Decorator, a saw your a Joiner (Carpenter). My opinion is it's too late now over here by 10-20 yrs sadly. Thank you Peter, the old ones are the best. John

Thanks everyone, Pete we had the same brakes, vividly remember dreading going home after forgetting to change my school shoes! Anssi, seems the kids have a different view of fun today, to them exertion is plugging in a USB. I was never any good at games, if we played Doctors and Nurses I always had to be the Ambulance Driver!! A quick filter and desat, lost heart in this one John

Garteth, thank you. Pete, this PC is ancient and would take weeks for an animation; this week or next I will have a new one, if I can ever decide what specs to go for. Maybe I will even be able to use displacement!! johnsenior1973, thank you. Your spot on! I changed the name hoping someone would ask where's the Bull's tail. Here's a Street View grab of Haworth. I think that the night scene need more contrast between dark and light, and some atmosphere... Great job by the way

@frederik said: Nope... The image must have been removed... Huh. Well, despite that I think it's a very impressive model.

Peter, at the pace public houses are being demolished and replaced by apartments/stores ect they will be extinct shortly. Boo, thanks again. Nomer, this was a model/render that no matter what I tried, did not materialise in to what I wanted it to. I'm sure we all have those, it's flustrating at times. Adam & mitcorb, I remember it had a pool table & an open fire, I think . At one time it was the only public house in town that was not restricted by opening hours, something to do with the dock workers agreements (many years ago); at the end of their shift they could have a pint or twelve! Thanks John

Great stuff! I'm not generally a big fan of architecture, but this is impressive!

Tahnk you Lee & emerald15. Jeff, I've looked at both those buildings many times, infact TIG suggested Cragside a long time ago. I really don't think I could model either from Photographs alone, but I'd jump at the chance if I could find an elevation drawing. regards John

Hello sepo, thanks for your comments. I don't intend to do interiors of these. The roof is quite a size to texture with good results, a little more PS needed maybe. Hello kurt, I hope the two images below help explain the process I used. regards John [image: dRjh_Vodin-SUtexturedimage.jpg] [image: zyQq_Vodin-rawV-rayoutput.jpg]

Hmmm.... Englishness in his work is for discussion. Although Arts and Crafts was meant to be localised the style is quite international ... Somilar style was evident in Germany as well.

Yes...it was beautiful. It is interesting how in less than 50 miles distance local architectural language changes completely. For instance in Ambleside you have slate walls and almost alpine look and in Kendal you have lime stone and shallower roof pitch like I am in Buckinghamshire. Anyway Voyesy did number of houses in brick as well.

Thanks everyone. Dale your jobs safe! Maybe the husband returned early after walking the dog!! [image: y0r4_005.jpg] "whats the story of the bloke" Every time I render an image I have to put a frog in it for the grandaughter (thus the avatar), the wife says I'm daft. So I put the streaker in for her (the fatter half/better half), she doubted I would post it. John

That's the very house! That's the front/side - the rear with terracing is much more attractive... [They are from the rich side of the family!! BUT he did make all his own wealth.][image: WA9T_L191356.jpg] Mr Andy Haigh

Yes C.F.A. Voysey. I happen to be studying a Phaidon book about him and felt a connection with your style, seeing his renderings and buildings. I gather his work is peppered about the UK, if you are interested. Probably a lot of it is on private estates. I haven't looked for links. Peter David, I think the shadow does help. That image is so realistic.

Hello Daniel, you're correct about the roof line! I suppose it's not bad 1 fault picked up for the size of the model, I can see a few shhhh. The arches where made using Thomtom's great UV Toolkit.... http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=18992#p15575, also Gaieus has a tutorial on the same page. It's not exactly how I use it but you'll get the jist. John

It's getting harder and harder to tell if it's a photo or a render. It wasn't easy to begin with.
