Wow nice! Mind making a tutorial explaining how you did it?

RE: My Imaginary Palace
Ok, file size: just over 1MB (but not finished yet)
the meshlab thing, don't know how it works, it cant use .skp
the model info>statistics in sketchup says
(show nested components: unticked) = Faces 90
(show nested components: ticked) = Faces 51646But faces aren't polys, so oh well.

And I don't see the point on spending money for cars for instance - because I do not need it. Other folks still find cars useful and I don1t argue, for them cars may be useful.
Everyone spends money on what he needs (or wishes).
But that's why it's "I". I couldn't buy a car anyway, i'm 13

RE: Silvershadows eye candy 2 : BLACK HAWK
Thanks, that's not how i make planes so it took me ages, and then i had forgotten to round all the rib's corner's, and i made a LOT to many ribs. Thanks, and now that I know the amount of time it takes just to make those silly ribs, I admire your work more!

Thanks for the extrude edges plugin! I don't see the point of spending money on plugins though, although s&s is amazing.

Savin time whilst making meshes
Hello,
I can make quite complex aircraft but they take a huge amount of time. I usually use 2-view to get top and side view of something, then i trace it all with bezier curves (which x1000 the polys, but looks good). Then i scale a semi-sphere to match both the top view and side view. Every few millimetres i have to push/pull, scale, orbit, scale, pan, and redo that. The amount of time is massive that is needed. Is there anyway i can do this in quick? Like, for example, with the follow me tool? This method of making things with the scaling might sound like garbage to you, but I discovered it for myself, nobody taught me, and till now I am very happy with it. If you don't get what I mean, please tell me, I will explain further and look for pics i posted in a different forum in my tutorial on how to model a plane. Thanks loads,

RE: Quick & Easy "Dennis Method" renderings [TUTORIAL]
Hey Dennis. I've made a basic tutorial for GIMP, using your method a few seconds ago. It's only the very basics, after you've done the tutorial you have to play around with the burn tool to make it look artistic. But how do i post the video here? It's .avi
Thanks

RE: RAILWAY DRAWING
Wow all that stuff on the roof is impressive! How do you know all about it? Do you jump onto trains at night and take photos? Jks. Looking good!

RE: Tridem's WIP with SU and Kerkythea
On the left window/door, the middle piece of wood has dark edges and a little lighter wood in the middle. (weirdly worded). This imo, looks very realistic!
For the ceiling you could also model a mechanism wich closes. Because if it is dark outside that room will be rather dark aswell.

RE: Tridem's WIP with SU and Kerkythea
Although i am a complete render-noob, the thing that jumps to my eye is that in photo 1, the couch that is facing us, has 2 pillows that have the exact same shadow. This is maybe supposed to be, but it looks funny.

of course - you just got to color a small part of your building and leave the rest to be white. that is it. It might take a bit longer to simulate "the painterly strokes" but I believe it is possible.
Although i dont use your method, i plan to! But i have an idea about doing the painterly strokes. Use bezier curves on a face, then using the push pull tool, move it onto the wall. Then select all and instersect selected. Delete useless geometry and you've got the exact pattern you created with bezier curves on your wall.

Dead eye? These are most likely all wrong. I bet the answer is easy but i'm too thick.
