    • Upgrade from 8 pro to newer version worth it?

Hello all. It's been a couple of years since I have last visited this forum, I still see it's as interesting as ever.
I'm using SketchUp 8 Pro and wondering if it's worthwhile to upgrade to the latest pro version-is it 15 or 16?
I'm a sole proprietor architect use SU on mostly smaller projects and details.

It seems confusing just to determine the cost of upgrading, or is it just me?

Thanks in advance for any help. advice,
      Stephen

    • Version 8 dropdown menus not visable

Good morning all. I posted this over at the corner bar before I found this forum, I think maybe this is a more appropriate place for it.
I have been a happy user of v8(something), but I thought I would look at the evaluation version v14. After downloading it, I couldn't seem to get out of it. Operator error likely.
Every time I tried to open my older version, 8.---, I was immediately tossed into the newer evaluation version.
I uninstalled it. Now, my older version,8.-- is acting wonky. I cannot edit styles, when I select the paint bucket, no choice of color selection drop down is available.
I suspect there may be more issues that I haven't come across yet.
I have attempted to reinstall v8, same probs.
It seems like the drop downs may be off screen and I can't find them.
Does anyone have any thoughts about this?
Should I just upgrade to 13,14,15? I really would prefer not to for various reasons.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I did speak with Igor from tech support(?) but he was only able to connect me to a link to download the older version that I had.

    • RE: Convert real world curves to Cad, help.

The best and most accurate way is to plot out the points as you mentioned. Afterwards, I would plot it out full size and see how it fits, make any adjustments, then do it again. It's waaay easier and cheaper to do this on paper than wood.

    • RE: Naval Cutter "Alert" 1777

      Indeed, an incredible model!
I have a question totally unrelated to the model. As I was looking over teh beautiful project, I wondered how you are going to get it to the water?
Is there a method that a ship like that would be launched, the beach is pretty flat.
      Just wondering.

Yeh, an ipod does seem odd, but what did the Queen give to Obama? A picture of herself and her husband! I'd take the ipod any day.

Those are really wonderful sketches! My only comment-a pet peave of mine-is the over emphasis on the garage door instaed of the main door to the house. Not a big car fan...

Good morning. I just received my new phone this morning. The phone isn't anything special but I thought the packaging is pretty nice.
