Crazy stuff, John! You have some skills, you know....out of this world.
In fact, just by looking at your avatar, I would dare to say you're not even human!

RE: Modern Kitchen
Thanks for the input guys! Definitely, I have some issues in the scene, the flying saucers are in contact with the worktop, but because I had five spotlights on the ceiling, they don't get the proper contact shadow. That's really a beginner mistake (having more then one pro-eminent light source).
Cheers,

Modern Kitchen
Hello again!
I've finished another project, this time a more contemporary kitchen. I had some plans from the designer, so no credit for me, just modeling and rendering. I still need to find some better components to populate the scene, but being under pressure, I have used what I had. Again, I did some "aggressive" post-production, but hopefully I'll get the time to learn how to do it properly.
Regards,
Stefan

RE: Classic Kitchen
I agree, and saving JPEG's was definitely a big mistake. The file size was 45 Mb.
Thanks again for your comments!

RE: Classic Kitchen
Thanks for comment Jaryn and Mr, Dale. I had a hard time making it look like that, so I can just imagine how many grey hairs I'll get if I'll try to make some mess.
At this moment, I really hate myself not taking into consideration post-production sooner. Not that I nailed it with this images(because 90% of the time I didn't knew what I was doing), but the fact that I prefer these over the originals, says it all.
Here it is a raw rendering, just to see what I'm talking about:

Classic Kitchen
Hello everyone!
This is my last project, after a long period of "abstinence". It's a budget classic kitchen, and I tried to give just enough technical details but not too much. I did some post-production for the first time, and obvious, everything is exaggerated, but I still find them better then the original renderings.
I must say, most of the objects ware imported, from the warehouse and from a scene that I had but I can't remember the author.
Regards,
Stefan

RE: Distace from Camera to object in drawing.
When you disable physical camera, the "Aperture" box become available (under SettingsCameraDOF/Basic Params). In this case, you control the DOF effect with this option.
"A small aperture will have a only a slight amount of
blurriness for objects which are not within the focal distance. A large aperture will have a large amount of
blurriness for objects outside the focal distance."
There was the place where I had the value of 0,4 ,and not the f-stop like I said in my first comment. The problem is that I tried to recreate the same effect without physical camera, and it's not working. Must be a bug, because I had values between 0,001 and 500, without any changes for DOF effect.
So, I'll guess you'll have to use physical camera when you want DOF.
Cheers,
Stefan -
RE: Distace from Camera to object in drawing.
It's working. I added a checker texture on the ground so that the DOF effect is clear.
What you need is a lower f-stop to really see the DOF effect. For this image I used 0,2 and I made the ISO 1 for balancing the exposure.

RE: Distace from Camera to object in drawing.
I rendered this image couple of years ago, so in an older version of v-ray, but what I can tell for sure is that, it's a raw v-ray image with f-stop at 0.4. I remember that I had a hard time using physical camera, so I turn it off.
PS: I used a free plugin called "CameraDistance" , and in v-ray, the units are inches.
Good luck.

RE: For those interested in Modo ...
Got your license back?
I'll bet you want your modo back. -
RE: Render Experiment
Dave, I have some of your line styles, and I thank you, because they are awesome. This kind of rendering technique is most appealing for architects I think, because it is a mix between
a physical model and the lines they love so much.@pbacot said:
When will a renderer offer direct overlay of SU lines?
Peter, look what I got in v-ray, after replacing almost all materials whit a toon material. I bet, they can be thinner or thicker depending on the distance from camera or something, but that need more investigation and experiments.

RE: What Software to learn
Haha, that will be great! Pilou, sorry for the noob question, but what exactly should I do with that script?
I played already with MoI, and I loved it. I'll register to the forum, to say hi to you and to Michael.

RE: What Software to learn
Gentlemen, thank you all of you, I think I have a battle plan now. I'll look into MoI, and hopefully, I will be able to import into Rhino, for dimensions and such. Or, who knows, Michael will implement that in the future. For Blender, there are some good render engines available, so purtty images are solved. My biggest concern about learning Blender would be....nodes. Polygonal and sub-d modelling I'll manage, because I understand the concept, and I did some "gymnastics" over the years with some different apps. But nodes are new to me. I think these are the best option for me right now, I'll thank you again for taking the time to answer my questions.

Stefan
